LUMIX Digital Shotgun Microphone DMW-DMS1
Nice. Thanks for posting this. As always, there is 0 information on the German Panasonic website. Compatible with S1RII, S1II and S1IIE as of February 2026. I hope they will add the older models as well - via a firmware update. That would be nice. Edit: YouTube reviews are out. I watched these two.

Lumix S1II vs Nikon Z8 for 60/40 Video/Photo
I have both. I wanted a second body for video and picked up an S1ii a few weeks ago. Z8 has been my main photo beast for awhile. I find myself using the S1ii more and more as my edc and I've really been enjoying using it as true hybrid. For some reason it makes me want to get out and take more video

Micro Four Thirds is "just getting killed" - Peter Jeune, on Petapixel Podcast 12/06/2025
I'd say that MFT is undead - on the OM side, everything that's been released is a repackaging of the technology from OM-1, when the R&D was completed by Olympus already prior to the camera, binocular and dictaphone business being offloaded. On the Panasonic side, the G9II is a great camera, so is th

Best video camera worth buying the MOST currently in your opinion?
I can only speak to full frame. If you don't need the ABSOLUTE best in autofocus, and want to avoid breaking the bank, the Panasonic S5IIX does absolutely everything well. One step up in price will give you a big step up in performance to the Panasonic S1II. Another step up in price will give you an

Worried about Panasonic at the International Broadcast Conference
Definitely not! Panasonic is used quite widely amongst content creators and is seen as THE value proposition. The S1H is still one of the only hybrid mirrorless cameras in the Netflix approved camera list and with the S1ii we are now getting Arri log. Let’s not also forget that the L mount alliance

Experiences with Lumix customer service? Considering switching to S5 II from Sony
Bought the $1600 24-70 f/2.8. However, it wouldn’t go below 26mm, or past 68mm. Sent it to Panasonic, they sent me a brand new one. Super easy. Now, their new S1ii series cameras have a 5 year warranty. I think that shows a lot of confidence in their product, and after such a fantastic experience qu

What are the major differences of the Lumix S1II and the Nikon Z6III?
Just sold my Z6III after getting the S1II. I tried Nikon because I was disappointed by Lumix video quality (mainly details rendering) since the S5II. The N-Raw was great but the stabilization was much worse and there was no Open Gate mode. Futhermore their lenses like the Plena 135mm or Nikon 35mm f

What body should I upgrade to? Concerned about moiré issues when shooting commercial work with the S1 II. More details in the post.
First of all, congratulations in advance. I understand your concerns. However, moiré is not a problem unique to Panasonic. New sharpening systems mean higher sharpness. When you add high megapixel counts to that, moiré inevitably becomes an issue. As you mentioned, Canon cameras have an OLPF filter,

Worried about Panasonic at the International Broadcast Conference
Panasonic released 3 cameras this year, S1IIR, S1II and S1IIE. we cannot hope they release cameras every month. The cameras we have now are pretty amazing, also the L mount is growing. Don’t worry Panasonic is doing the things the right way.
