Thoughts on Lumix S5iix for video vs what I currently use (Nikon Z8)
Hey there! Full time business photographer videographer here. Looks like you’re hitting the limit of using a hybrid photo camera for long form video. The Nikon Z8 is an incredible camera, but some would say it isn’t built for hour plus continuous recording, especially in a theater environment. Readi

Old Sony Users Who Switched To Panasonic; Any Regrets?
Over the past eight years, I’ve shot professionally with Sony cameras. I’ve used the a7III, a7IV, a7R V, and the FX3. They’re solid tools, no doubt about it. When Panasonic released the original Lumix S1, I decided to try it out of curiosity. I loved a lot about the camera, but the autofocus perform

Micro Four Thirds is "just getting killed" - Peter Jeune, on Petapixel Podcast 12/06/2025
I'd say that MFT is undead - on the OM side, everything that's been released is a repackaging of the technology from OM-1, when the R&D was completed by Olympus already prior to the camera, binocular and dictaphone business being offloaded. On the Panasonic side, the G9II is a great camera, so is th

Switching to Lumix S1RII (or S1II) for professional photography?
Hi, first of all I'd like to point out that based on your description in your post you can't go wrong with either of these great 2nd generation LUMIX cameras. If I may I'd like to share with you why we chose the S1 II over the S1R II. We tested the S1R II for a couple of months side by side to the S

Nikon Z6 iii vs Nikon ZR vs panasonic S1 ii for travel videos?
Regarding IBIS - Panasonic is on a completely different level. Nikon’s stabilization is nowhere near as good as Panasonic’s, not even close. There’s a simple physical reason: Panasonic bodies have a much larger IBIS chamber, which gives the sensor more space to move and correct motion. It’s not just

Worried about Panasonic at the International Broadcast Conference
Panasonic released 3 cameras this year, S1IIR, S1II and S1IIE. we cannot hope they release cameras every month. The cameras we have now are pretty amazing, also the L mount is growing. Don’t worry Panasonic is doing the things the right way.

Panasonic S1IIE for 2000€ good deal for video and photo work?
including a new sensor. But OP wants opinion on the S1IIE which has the same sensor as the S5II(x)? https://www.dpreview.com/articles/7326492092/panasonic-s1iie-vs-s5ii-video-handling-comparison Panasonic recently announced the S1IIE, a full-frame camera that has the same sensor – and therefore simi

Soon to Lumix owner(again)
I was right there on weighing the options with the A7V too...and went with the S1II (and the adventure kit as you did) because I loved it after spending 6 days with the rental and it was the fStopper review that pushed me over the top: "To convince new shooters to choose Panasonic over the much more

Panasonic Lumix 40mm F2 vs TT Artisan 40mm F2 - TLDR
I think its fair to say that the TT artisan is astonishing for the price. A few things more going for the Panasonic lens not mentioned though: -First party firmware updates-access to cropless image stabilisation (on S1ii bodies)-First party distortion and vignetting correction-At least in the UK, 5
