Any Lumix Cameras Around $2000 That are Just as Good, If Not Better Than The Sony FX30?
Disclosure: I own the G9 II and shoot on GH7's and FX30's for work. I'm gonna have some bias towards the Panasonic offering so take this with a grain of salt. The G9 II is probably the closest you can get in the Lumix lineup at a cheaper price point. It's currently on sale at Amazon for 1.6k body on

Posting bird photos every week until I'm good enough to justify a camera upgrade [Week 1]
The Panasonic Lumix FZ80 is a decent choice for casual nature photography. If you want to stick with what you know, a Panasonic Lumix G95/G97 or G100 would be the next step. Pair it with a Lumix 100-300 mm or 100-400 mm zoom. Personally, I have a G95. It's a little larger for handling the bigger zoo

What kind of two-cameras setup would you favour for low-light events [documentary]? Any advice is welcome, please see the text too.
I saw a recent comparison of the IBIS of one of the latest Panasonic FF cameras vs the G9ii or GH7 and the person who did it reached the conclusion that that FF camera in particular had better IBIS. Considering how much tech has advanced, it might be more of an issue of Olympus vs Sony than m43 vs F

I got caught in the L10 hype but ended up buying an S9 instead
We are both hybrid shooters so video is pretty important. And I just got done shooting an event with my G9ii and the 50-200 and got tripod/monopod like shots at 600mm full frame equivalent with crop zoom handheld thanks to IBIS. I think a lot of the target audience who mostly want a travel photograp

I want a camera
Not many people here do video. You would be better off posting in the videography sub. Every time someone comes in here asking about cinema cameras, most cinema cameras are inappropriate for their needs. I am confident that you are better off with a hybrid or content creator type camera. Many people

G9 II + OM System 100-400mm f/5-6.3 II — anyone running this cross-brand combo for wildlife/dog sports?
That is so kind of you! Pleased to meet you! My wife competes in Hoopers, and our life revolves a lot around this community. She competes with our mighty Boston Terrier and currently trains its successor Lurcher (Border Collies + Whippet). I do not consider myself an expert in the field, but can con

Does anyone here use the OM M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-100mm F4 IS Pro on a Lumix G9II?
I run this combo - it's actually my one and only Olympus lens. It works great, no problems with AF whatsoever, tack sharp, etc.. Maybe you could get better performance with dual IS, but the in-body stabilization of the G9ii is pretty spectacular and I honestly don't notice any difference shooting wi

Does anyone here use the OM M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-100mm F4 IS Pro on a Lumix G9II?
The lens is mega, no matter the body or sync IS. I used it on both a G9 and E-M10 II and never found the stabilisation lacking The f4 aperture on the other hand can be a near-constant annoyance if you don't shoot exclusively in daytime or good weather. Image quality and handling are fantastic though

These cameras couldn't be more different
I’ve have all 3 but parted with the G9ii in favor of an s1r2. I regret this decision for a number of reasons, but none are related to weight. The S9 is cool, but the om5 ii runs circles around it. The s9 makes you realize how much the om5’s ibis makes an impact. Yes, more dynamic range in the s9, bu

A Newcomer to G9 m2
Also recently got the G9 M2, love it. For hand held high res did you turn on the hand held setting? Otherwise it assumes you are on a tripod by default. Was taking blurry images until i worked this out. https://eww.pavc.panasonic.co.jp/dscoi/DC-G9M2/html/DC-G9M2_DVQP3010_eng/0048.html
