New Globerider 35 vs ULA Dragonfly 30…quick decision

Packs are like shoes when it comes to fit. The idea that one pack is going to fit everyone is fantasy. Those bags with adjustable torso length or come in multiple sizes and gender specific harnesses are the thing. Strap spacing depends on neck size in general, trapezius, general body mass, etc, etc.

Thule Chasm 40 Straps

Use carabiners on the end handles and attach a shoulder strap with bit snap hooks to them. You may find a strap with large enough snap hooks to fit over the handles directly. The bag will tend to rotate a bit. Carrying a full duffel bag that big on one strap crossbody or on one shoulder will be unco

Australia — need clothes shopping help!

Thank you! I don’t want outdoor specific products — just more travel friendly than 100% cotton 15 oz denim! And for sizing? Yeppers, it varies country to country and even brand to brand. I gave up shopping at Mont Bell in Japan because their XL is about a a US 8! I have screen-shot your reply, highl

Having Trouble Choosint a 40L Pack!

I highly recommend the REI Ruckpack 40. I wore it during during a month long Asia trip and it's very comfortable to wear because of the hip belt. The REI Trail 40 is even more comfortable because of the padded hip belt. It does look a little more outdoorsy. I like the some of the travel-specific fea

Your bag is perfect except for "that one thing" - what is it?

Osprey Sojourn Porter 46. Needs a water bottle pocket.

Bag Finder Megathread - 20 April 2026

Hi everyone! I’m heading to India for a yoga course, then traveling onward to Nepal and Sri Lanka for about 1–2 months. I’m trying to find one backpack that can work for both travel and light hiking. I’m petite 5” and have a short torso. Right now I’m deciding between: • Osprey Sojourn porter 30 - l

22.5L carry-on and a personal item VS one 30L backpack

I never thought about the hip belt size as I am petite (5'1"), so I only pick backpacks that are under 35L and up to 46 cm in height. Still the overhead size limit puts Osprey Sojourn Porter 30L out of my options. Two things lacking in the Cabin Zero Classic 36 are a sternum strap and laptop access

ULA

The major error is that you can’t make one pack that will fit everyone. It’s no less preposterous than trying to make one shoe that will fit everyone. Or one shirt may be a better analogy. And then there are all of the construction methods for straps and back panels. So these manufacturers crank out

Recommendation wanted for travel pack

At 19.3H X 14.6W X 10.2D IN (49H X 37W X 26D CM) It’s too big and notably too deep, even for overhead on most airlines. Osprey did a face plant on that bag and the Sojourn Porter 30 too.
