Is 40L with the intention to buy quite a bit of souvenirs enough for 3 months in Europe?
This is excellent advice. My first one bag trip was awful. My back killed me, my bag was way too large and hard to lug around a city. My teen and I learned our lesson and downsides to an Osprey 26+6

Found my perfect travel backpack! 40L
It may be perfect on paper, but fail once it’s fully packed. I just learned that my fully packed but unexpanded Osprey 26+6 is simply too heavy for my senior body, so I reluctantly dumped its contents into a Travelpro rollaboard.

Does this bag even exist??
I agree with this assessment. I don’t use the bag often because I find the tech panel is useless for my needs (strictly leisure travel, no electronics except for my phone, charging cable, and power bank) and adds unnecessary weight. I find packing the Cotopaxi Allpa and Osprey 26+6L much easier too.

Your 5-4-3-2-1 setup
I’m not a practitioner of this packing method myself, though I do use a similar strategy. What works for me varies a bit depending on season, duration, and whether it’s mostly urban, hiking or resort activities. Or if i’m on an ocean or river cruise, or a road trip. I just finished packing my Osprey

Bag Finder Megathread - 23 March 2026
Are there any alternatives to the Osprey 26+6? I would love to find a backpack that can either: -expand to be used as a daypack and carry-on (so anywhere between 20-40l) -is as as light as possible -fits all airlines specs for a carry-on when expanded or: -is the best carry non-expanding carry-on ba

AER CPP2 vs. Osprey 26+6 / EDC, Work, Travel
For comfort I would not go with the AER; they are solid, overbuilt products. However they are more on the heavy side. The Osprey, is a feather light pack, but fully packed out the harness system is not comfortable. I used to fly with a TP3 small in Olive, and I still have an Osprey 26+6. For comfort

Where ya'll getting these carrying cases from?
Yeah but how do you travel with this if you dont mind me asking? In like a bookbag or carry over a sling or shoulder? Im looking for one to fit in my Osprey 26+6L bag but I dont use those extra 6 L cause bag tends to get lil heavy from my commute to work or vacation

Which 40l bag do you recommend?
If you are petite, you may find a 40 L bag too heavy or bulky for anything more than bringing it from a taxi/uber into a hotel room. A 30 L bag might work better for you.(Osprey 26+6, or Ula Dragonfly are lighter-weight options, and there are others) Personally, as a shorter, slighter senior woman,

Help finding the “just right” personal item backpack.
You actually have AWESOME timing. We had purchased an Osprey Daylite 26+6. Nice bag, light and very affordable. Not sure how well it’s going to last, but we’ve had good luck with Osprey bags…. BUT. It just doesn’t have enough organization - was a bit frustrating. My wife uses it, but I don’t like it

Bag Finder Megathread - 30 March 2026
Hello everyone! I am 155cm/5.2 and 50 kg. Right now I am torn between two Osprey backpacks - Daylite plus and 26+6. My main issue is weight - anything heavier than 3.5-4kg is heavy for me. I am planning a trip to Europe in summer for two weeks. I am worried that daylite may be a little bit too small
