Osprey 26+6 Personal Sizer Pics
A big factor for the tight squeeze with Air Canada is because all Canadian airlines (Air Canada, WestJet, Porter, and Flair) generally only allow 6 inches of depth for personal item, compared to the 8-9 inches allowed by US airlines. It's a massive difference. A fully packed (unexpanded) Osprey 26+6

Deciding on new onebag
The only way that the osprey is comfortable to take on a 10 mile walk would be if you modded it to take a hip belt. I love it for urban stuff and it fits in almost every sizer as a personal item but it’s not designed for walking. Im eu based so havent got direct experience with ULA stuff but that lo

Osprey daylite 26+6+1 mod
Yeah, I don't want to knock the Osprey Daylite 26+6. It's my current onebag. But it's claimed 6" (16cm) depth is more like 7.5" (19cm) when packed. To keep it at 7", I need to pack without using compression cubes.

Packing cubes from bag/luggage maker or "generic brand"??
I bought packing cubes over a decade before I started one bagging, and long before I knew which bag could be the “right” one for me. I also have different bags for different types of travel, so buying cubes specifically for each bag would get way too cost-prohibitive for me. My opinion: I think it’s

Another Osprey 26+6 post
I recently bought the Osprey (edit: the Daylite, not the Transporter) 26+6 and Tomtoc T66 Liteway (28L) to compare as personal item bags. The Osprey is the only one I brought on trips — first a family car trip, then on a flight for a work trip.On the family trip I had no complaints. But on the work

DadBag / Personal Item Hybrid?
Take a look at the Cabin Zero 28 series bags. The Tech and Military versions have more features. The Osprey Daylite 26+6 will squeak by if you don’t over pack it.

Bag Finder Megathread - 23 March 2026
Are there any alternatives to the Osprey 26+6? I would love to find a backpack that can either: -expand to be used as a daypack and carry-on (so anywhere between 20-40l) -is as as light as possible -fits all airlines specs for a carry-on when expanded or: -is the best carry non-expanding carry-on ba

Tomtoc T66 40L (the old version) vs Osprey Daylite 26+6
The Osprey 26+6 shines in 26L mode. It’s not a very comfortable carry at 32 for long periods. If your goal is 30+ then go with the Tomtoc.

Another Osprey 26+6 post
I like the osprey 26+6 a lot. It’s great for budget airlines or weight sensitive airlines. It also fits in middle and window airplane seats better because it’s so small height wise. I think it falls short majorly on space. Online reviews says the 26 is more like 22l. And to fit nicely on airlines, y
