every camera that has any aspiration in being a retro body should be available in both silver and black, as both silver and black film cameras were generally available. Fujifilm undestood the assignment, all of their retro bodies come in either black or silver (if not more). But both OM and Nikon re

To me, OM System has missed a big opportunity when it comes to street photography and small camera that offer film simulation. They deliver great cameras packed with features, but their focus seems to be only on adventurers and wildlife photographers. They should consider making smaller cameras, lik

"... the executives indicated that OM System does have the licensing rights for the Olympus PEN series and plans to launch a new PEN..." Indeed, the first camera launched by OM Systems was the PEN EP-7. Of course this was an Olympus design that was ready to go out the door. But they have done one PE

Senior Vice President Tazuhiro Togashi and Director of Product Planning Hiroki Koyama Not exactly "OM Reps". That suggests some low grade Marketoid. These "dudes" are "nosebleeder" - called that because they are so high up in the company, the thin air up there could cause nosebleeds. So these statem

only on cameras with the Color dial. Which only 3 cameras have so far; the pen f, E-p7, and OM3. A shame really because they should have it on all of their cameras imo. Fuji is making bank on the film sim craze but OM systems are limiting it to only 3 of their cameras(2 of which are already 10 years

Interesting. Because in March OM3 was the best selling camera in Japan by quite a wide margin. OM3 sales Japan March Hard to see how they could go from hero to absolutely nothing and overtaken by the OM5 in a few days? Camera sales are notoriously difficult to judge, especially in Japan. OM3 has bee

OM was pretty clear the OM-3 was as close to the Pen-F as we're gonna get. They're focusing on the outdoor high end crowd nowadays, that's why all the goodies are in the OM-1 and why even the OM-3 uses the same EVF as the E-M5 mark III released in 2019. That's why they have no intention of continuin

a smaller camera The A7C is basically the only 'proper' full frame body that is that size (not counting non-EVF stuff like the S9); everything else, everything else in the full frame market loses to M43 on system size and weight. I have an R8 as my main camera and even that is bigger, heavier and th

Fair question. I bought into M43 nearly a decade ago based on very careful analyses of camera systems at the time. When taken as a whole, the compact lenses/bodies combined with IBIS meant I could do things at that time with M43 that was largely impossible on any other camera system at similar size/

OM System has said all along that they are committed to the PEN line, so this news report only reaffirms that. I believe we'll see a new PEN no later than late summer or early fall of this year. It won't be a premium camera in the image of a PEN-F Mk II as that market is covered with the OM-3. It wi
