M43 bodies alternatives to E-PL1 ?

Since you use G80, I would just go for a E-PL5 if you don't care about wireless transfer. Wireless transfer use E-PL8 if you still want compatibility with the VF-4 viewfinder. I have the E-PL9 and G80 I would say they are complimentary to one another. Of course the G80 is better but the E-PL9 perfor

It's M43 Monday! Ask Us Anything about Micro Four-Thirds Photography - all questions welcome!

Then yeah it sounds like you should stay in the PEN Lite series especially if you were generally happy with it. I just got an E-PL9 but I also considered E-PL7 (I didn't like the design of the 8 personally). My conclusion was get a 7 or 8 if you prioritize the option of a viewfinder or having MySets

How did you get into m43 system? What's your future plans with it?

Wanted a camera to explore photography again and my priorities were it being small and stabilized, then ideally not representing too much of an investment so if I ended up not liking it I wouldn't lose that much if I sold it. Used/refurbished M43 fit these requirements very well and I haven't had an

Looking to buy my first mirrorless camera after many years away from the hobby and wanted to get some advice on choices. Are my potential choices good starter cameras or should I think of other devices?

Used e-pl5 - same sensor as e-pl9 and all 16mp oly , older , cheaper, same IQ. Buy used if sell costs very little to try. But get nice lens - kit lenses never nice. £140 uk https://cameradecision.com/compare/Olympus-PEN-E-PL9-vs-Olympus-PEN-E-PL5 For small child decent smartphone best - always handy

Street photography Olympus ep7 17mm f1.8 Taiwan Taipei

I took my E-P7 out into bright, direct, sunlight today just to test again, and with the screen brightness up all the way, I found it quite readable, including all the small text like aperture, shutter speed, exposure compensation, etc. The screen on the E-P7's screen is noticeably brighter than that

canon g7x vs sony alpha a6300?

If the M50 is too bulky for you, you should consider either a point and shoot or a mirrorless on the smaller side with a pancake lens. The G7X line isn't really worth what they're charging for these days, and the a6300 doesn't really have any good pancake lens. Go for something like this. The E-PL9

Which travel camera should i choose?

I don't have the e-pl9 but have the e-pl1 and e-p7. Great value for money, perfect size and weight for travel. If you pair them with a pancake lens you can take them any where. If the e-pl9 is anything like the other Olympus Pens it's a great option.

[Yet another Japan post] Olympus Pen E-P7 is seriously slept on IMO. Super discreet and the IBIS is magic

Yes it is. But with my PEN E-PL9 and E-P7 the screens are bright enough when turned up all the way to be viewable in direct sunlight which goes a long way in reducing the frustration of no EVF. These later screens are much brighter than the earlier PENs.
