I have owned a camera from almost every system being produced but I always find myself drawn back to Olympus M43 cameras. I have a Fujifilm XH2S but I seem to prefer my Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark III, to the point that I'm seriously considering selling my Fuji kit to get an OM-1. It's so sad how Olympus

I had just placed my preorder yesterday for the new sand beige version, I think it looks great. I’m actually coming over from the Fujifilm system and the X-S10. I’ve been eyeing OM system for a while now, super intrigued by its compact form factor, IPX rated weather sealing, and computational featur

Hi, I work in an IP rating testing lab. IPX1 is laughable, but the reason it's rated like this is most likely only because they didn't bother with a higher tier certification. IP testing is long and expensive. You don't test the product until it fails, you just test what the manufacturer told you to

If you are okay with buying used, definitely take a look at the OM-5 mark 1. Besides the menu system, it's literally the exact same camera with slightly different looks, and it costs 40% less. I don't think that as a beginner you'd need a camera as advanced as the OM-3, the OM-5 is already one hell

Another Dad here with young kids: I have an OM5i and the Panasonic 12-35 2.8 is on the camera 80% of the time. I use the 25mm 1.7 for indoor birthdays etc but I’d much rather something wider and brighter like Panasonic 15mm 1.7 or Oly 20mm 1.4. I think a nice bright lens beats the autofocus improvem

OM1 ii and OM3 are probably the best when using C-AF with subject detection. I upgraded from the em5 iii (basically the same AF as the em1 ii) to the OM3 and I'm getting way more keepers. That being said, the OM1 i, EM1 iii, and OM5 i/ii all have better face detect than the em1 ii. I find that you h

I have had a similar kind of experience with M43. I have been shooting Fujifilm X mount since 2021 (using Nikon DSLRs before that) and I switched back to Nikon with a Z6 in 2023 (it was also my first full frame mirrorless after using a full frame D700 years ago). I thought that was it, that I would

I switched from Canon DSLR and their 28-300 (this lens almost never left my camera body). I LOVED that lens. Switching to an OM-5 I was disappointed in performance but became smitten with the camera size and versatility. I bumped up to an OM-1 and am so happy with the body and performance. I wish I

Buy OM-5 bundled with 14-150mm f4-5.6 PRO lens and you are good to go. OM5 camera body is very capable and paired with lens mentioned above, you will be able to capture almost everything life will prepare for you. You will be slightly limited only in low light photography (prime lenses are kings the

the first E-M10 was released in 2014, it was basically a cheaper version of the E-M5 released in 2012, with some added stuff and some down graded specs. Just like the E-M5, it had a low resolution EVF, and no electronic shutter. Wi-Fi and some computational modes were added (like Live Composite), bu
