I have done a similar thing with my old E-M1 II once. Was on a trip in the jungle, dropped my camera with 12-40 mm Pro lens on it into the mud. Like, there was no way to get it off without rubbing it into all nooks and crannies. So I just grabbed my water bottle and washed the mud off the camera. Wo

I had just placed my preorder yesterday for the new sand beige version, I think it looks great. I’m actually coming over from the Fujifilm system and the X-S10. I’ve been eyeing OM system for a while now, super intrigued by its compact form factor, IPX rated weather sealing, and computational featur

Senior Vice President Tazuhiro Togashi and Director of Product Planning Hiroki Koyama Not exactly "OM Reps". That suggests some low grade Marketoid. These "dudes" are "nosebleeder" - called that because they are so high up in the company, the thin air up there could cause nosebleeds. So these statem

i got a used om-5 1 and i love it. wanted a small ish camera that was weather sealed as i live in a country with regularly mixed weather 😂 usually have the 17mm f1.8 ii from om system on it, sometimes the 12-60 f2.8-4 from panasonic leica camera body was £580ish, 17mm prime was £250ish, 12-60 was £3

The OM-5 Mark II is the smallest camera OM System sells new. It's a capable camera, but autofocus is not as good as OM-1 or OM-3. I have the first version of the 17mm f1.8. That's a good lens for your application. The version II should be very similar, adding weather sealing but deleting manual focu

The OM options he listed are 2x crop factor. The OM5 is much lighter and half the size of the r7. The OM1 is about the same size as the r7. OM systems also have the best weather sealing around. If I were buying a birding specific system I’d choose OM above all else. Me specifically I’d love to have

Pretty much any mirrorless camera system can do this. If you care about size, M43 will have the smallest lenses, followed by APS-C and FF. The OM-5 mkii and OM-3 are both smallish bodies with decent specs and the new menu systems (the older OM-5 original camera has the old menu system that is more '

My thought after reading some replies is that I probably pick up the om5. Then I think whats probably going to happen is I also will pick up an om1 mk whatever in a couple years. I guess it depends how much I like the system. To dip my toes in and have a "cheap" camera to take around with me I think

+1 for m4/3 cameras. The OM System OM-5 Mk I or II will be perfect. Light, excellent weather sealing, and will produce professional grade photos if you use it right. Don't let anyone tell you different. I print 30x40 landscape prints off the older 16MP EM-5 II, and the OM-5s have a newer 20MP sensor

I can only speak to what I know but I have the OM-5 mk2 (virtually identical to mk1) with the 14-150mm lens and the versatility of that lens is phenomenal. For a lens the size of a coke can, you can do landscapes, portraits, wildlife, whatever. Plus the system is weather sealed so it's a great one l
