So who's buying an OM-5 II and why? (Surprise: Me?)

I had just placed my preorder yesterday for the new sand beige version, I think it looks great. I’m actually coming over from the Fujifilm system and the X-S10. I’ve been eyeing OM system for a while now, super intrigued by its compact form factor, IPX rated weather sealing, and computational featur

So who's buying an OM-5 II and why? (Surprise: Me?)

Yeah I can see why it seems like we’ve had 3 cameras that are the same that have slowly chipped away at what was needed. I don’t think that’s especially fair when looking at the E-M5.3 and the OM-5. They are based on two different “1 series” cameras, E-M1.2 and E-M1.3. The major missteps were: The E

How can I make the flowers brighter while not overexposing the sky?

OM system cameras now have live ND and GND not sure if other manufacturers are doing it yet. It does work very well and I could see this becoming another thing that will become more common. I have an om-3 and use the GND more than I thought I would.

Apple Wanted to Buy Halide to Boost iPhone 18 Pro's Camera App—Now There's a Lawsuit

Apple should partner with Olympus for the next edition of its OM-5 Mark II, I'd like to see what Apple could do with focus stacking combined with other OM computational features, currently you can only use one computational feature at a time https://petapixel.com/2025/06/16/om-system-om-5-mark-ii-re

Future of OMSystem

I am more optimistic and excited about OM Systems than I was for Olympus for the last five years before they sold their imagining business. OM Digital Solutions has built out (and is still building out) the product line, they have established an extremely strong brand identity, they are leveraging t

Choosing my first m4/3 body

Welcome to the Micro Four Thirds camera world! I would advise to go with the OM-5 if you can. It's more recent and provides some nice computational features that you might use later. Besides, buying used will give a better chance of finding an OM-5 in good condition with less shutter count than EM-5

Coming from "smartphone photography" – is MFT a good starting point?

Computational features. Interesting that no one has mentioned them. Notably found in M43 Om-System & Panasonic. Stuff like in-camera focus stacking, in camera ND filters and starry sky AF to name a couple. Compared to the Z7ii full frame I had, I liken my little OM-5i to a high tech little Jeep. It

Seeking lense advice

I have the A7Riv, and the Sony 90mm macro lens. Even with the extra MP mine has, you still won’t get photos this detailed from my experience. You will need extra magnification and would want to use a photo stacking software post processing to get to something like this. I LOVE macro, and that is why

Is the G100D 3 lens kit for 664€ a good deal for a beginner?

If you're concerned about AF, you can always look at a used em5-mk iii or and om-5. They'll have a lot more computational features than any aps-c/full frame camera in the same price range. The lenses will also be cheaper than on Canon. And I personally think for wildlife photography, mft still has a
