Ok, I don't have vast experience, but here's how I see it. It's gonna be a bit of a wall of text, sorry. Question: Do you care about low light and/or shallow depth of field? If yes, you might want to look into lighter alternatives for your camera. Shooting at f1.2 M43 would behave similarly to f2.5

As someone who's had a camera in their hand for more than 35 years, I like that OM has a very nice simple selection of bodies and a rather amazing array of lenses. I've owned Minolta, Kodak, Pentax, Fuj, Sony, Canon, Leica, Nikon, Panasonic and Olympus. Even with bigger bodies like the OM-1 the m43

I’ve had Fuji, Sony FF, APSC as well as Olympus/om cameras which I currently use. For me I really enjoy the lighter weight, ergonomics, ruggedness of OM and the quality of the output is completely acceptable for what I do with the cameras. The downside of m43 being MUCH less actively developed in th

I have recently shot with top level Nikon (Z9, Z8, Z6III) and Sony (A1, A9II, A7SIII). I was a professional motorsports photographer and my primary weekend kit was 2 Z9's and 2 Z6III's (depending on how much video the client wanted vs photos, more video was Z6III's, more photos or bad weather, Z9's)

The OM-5 II uses the same sensor and imaging system / processor found in the OM-5 and E-M1 III (Sony IMX272 with truepic IX), but includes the new OM menu's, which are more intuitive and a few quality of life upgrades like better grip, USB-C, and a "CP" button. AF is good but not great. The resolvin

Okay, so first of all, it seems you are pretty set on M43 / Olympus / OM System cameras. The first thing that you need to understand is that those cameras work with processor generations, and that some generations are super close, while other provide a generational leap. For example : True Pic VIII

Certain companies like Sony offer crazy discounts to camera store employees. Which help drives sales to the people that are selling the product. I know at one point Sony was offering something like half back in prepaid Visa cards or something to that extent. So the people selling the product ended u

I'd recommend considering the OM1 and an OM 100-400. The ergonomics are great, good bird AF. And it has a tight pixel pitch, so you'll get a little more reach. Whatever you do, avoid the Nikon options you listed, especially the Z5 and Z6. The Z50, Z5, and Z6 are gen 1 Nikon mirrorless cameras, and t

So... I will say that the ergonomics of the OM-1 are better than an A7C, so it handles heavy glass better. If you add the 7-14 F/2.8 pro to that, then you're just expanding the collection of heavy glass you were trying to avoid even further. Does it make sense to use this big glass on a small sensor

I thought I was really going to like the 5 but it's really compact for my hands and lags a bit in tech behind the 3 and 1 mk2. The 3 especially with the clutch has me not missing the grip like I thought I would and I love the workflow. The 1 and 3 are essentially the same platform in different bodie
