My First impression of the Pen F as a GX85 user.

This is sadly very true. From what I can see, all their current tech was done under Olympus (the OM-1, which should have been the E-M1 mark IV was already almost finalized when Olympus sold their camera division to JIP... they didn't even bother redoing the molds to remove the Olympus logo on it). T

Just what were people expecting with the OM5?

The OM-5 is to the E-M5 III as the E-M1 III was to the Mark II. Nothing mind-blowing, but some very notable computational photography and autofocus improvements with modestly upgraded IBIS. I think there was extra disappointment with the OM-5 because many Olympus fans had existing gripes with the E-

DSLR Scanning Setups

I've been trying to tune in my mirrorless scans of 120 film and have not been all that successful with it. I'm using an Olympus e-m5 mk III camera with a 20mp 4/3 sensor plus pixel shift to give 80mp files, a Nikon Micro 40mm f2.8g lens, an adapter between them and a Cumulus holder that attaches to

PetaPixel and Emily from Micro Four Nerds on how to save Micro Four Thirds - the manufacturers only make large premium cameras and are afraid to make a small one that isn't plastic and chintzy

What's interesting to me is that the OG e-m5 at launch brought brand new things to the line up. Brand new 16mp sensor, new 5-axis IBIS system, new processor, faster bursts. The e-m1 actually came a bit after the e-m5, but they were not afraid to bring brand new capabilities to the smaller body. Even

Is there anyone who has used both Sony and Olympus cameras?

I moved from an em5 iii with the 12-40 f2.8 pro to an a6700. In terms of size, if you put the sigma 18-50 f2.8 on the Sony, you're probably winning in terms of size but have a slightly narrower zoom range (13.5 - 37.5 cf 12-40 M43 equivalent, so more noticeable at the wide end). For heavier lenses t

Upgrading from EM-5 mk II - How big is the difference between OM-5 and OM-3 really?

IMO, the OM-3 is clunkier than the OM-1 due to lack of ergonomics. You'll find you have to set it down, put it away, or use 2 hands to use it far more than an OM-1, which can be easily carried hanging from the tips of your fingers in 1 hand and easily operated 1 handed with lenses up to around 600g.

OM-5 II review by Micro Four Nerds

I've seen his "review" of that and the OM-3 -- absolutely take everything he says with the consideration that there is marketing-level of bias towards the cameras. The OM-3 review was almost a carbon copy of Johnny Ive showing off his latest Apple design, if you recall those videos. Again, calling m

EM5.2 to OM3 and lens tips for a high school student

The issue with the EZ lens, it’s prone to failure and build is not robust - especially for young student. As an EP2 to Em5ii user and waiting for an upgrade worth investing in, I agree as the IQ has stalled for over a decade. It would be nice to have the PD chip but for me, I value Image Quality ove

Camera reccomendation

The cheapest camera that will do everything you want is a Sony A6700, followed by a G9II or OM-3. You’re way out of budget. EM5III will do a lot of what you want, but the 1080/60 is low quality and the autofocus is not good (tracking is not usable). You’re also still far out of budget, once you add

OM-5 mkii Rumored Specs

No OM-5 is closer to the e-M10 iii as it has Trupic IX. E-M5 iii is TruePic Viii and closer to EM1 ii in output/features. But better color profile than the E-M1iii and E-Mi X that share the same processor. Hopefully some AF improvements will be in the Mark ii. Even my Fujifilm X-T1 AF is better than
