Beginner friendly camera
can't go wrong with the em10 series as a beginner, it's literally what it's meant for. As a beginner you probably won't be shooting super fast sports or jittery birds ( at least right away ) so CDAF with AFS is more than enough for static or semi-static subjects. That being said, I'm very biased tow

Quite disappointed with olympus. I seem to be having a much more negative experience than most
That is so disappointing. You have a new (to you) camera and it is failing at its most basic task. The Olympus line split into two customers: Average consumers or beginning photographers Serious amateurs and professionals For the serious photographers who depended on their equipment, there were the

Friend recommended an M43 as a solid first camera for me. And while it’s only been a week, I would do unspeakable things if anything ever happened to it [OLYMPUS OM-D E-M10 Mark IV + 12-40mm F2.8 Pro]

Is e-m5 m3 worth today?
As someone that owns and M5iii and an OM-1 I'll say I think it definitely is worth owning still just with a few caveats. It obviously falls a little short of continuous AF performance of newer cameras but it still does ok for CAF on people as long as it isn't sports or really young kids running like

Question: OMD-E10 + Pana 20mm Pancake, small waterproof Pouch
I’ve been using this. I haven’t had a stress test yet so can’t 100% confirm how waterproof it is, but the reviews are good and it fits my EM10iv with 20mm (inside the Olympus CS-44SF case) pretty perfectly. Is buying a Canon EOS Rebel t7/ 2000D (as a broke beginner) worth it?
After the advice I got, I’m actually currently looking at the OLYMPUS OM-D E-M10 Mark IV with Pancake Kit, 14-42mm F3.5-5.6 EZ and it is in comparison a lot better! I obviously had no idea what I was talking about, especially that I would probably use the camera for years and can’t just get an upgra

Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV - Opinions for a first timer on a budget?
So I'm trading up from an almost twenty year old digital camera (well, and a cameraphone). I'm looking to get back into photography as a hobby after time away. Mostly looking to do urban images with some nature work when the opportunity arises. Long-time amateur but someone who wants to learn more.

Mobile phones
You need optical zoom ie -latest $2100 phone -Panasonic Tz99 type point and shoot -micro four thirds eg Olympus EM10 IV. A camera will last 10-15yrs, I dropped mine onto tile and concrete and it survived.

Olympus TG-6 is a NO!
Olympus OM-D EM10 IV is ~$1800 with the Backscatter housing. By far the best option in the price range you are talking about.
