Would you buy a Nook? Why or why not?

People avoid the Nook for a few reasons: Nooks are only available in the US. Technically you can use them outside the US, but you're likely to run into issues with actually purchasing things on it. They do, naturally, work outside the US for reading, but the actual process of buying books is US-cent

My birthday is coming up and I want an eReader but I'm overwhelmed with choices. Any personal favourites or suggestions?

Device Reasoning (ignore this section unless you're curious) - Kobo Libra H2O (I see one in pretty nice condition for $145 on eBay. It's an older device than the Libra 2, but it still serves pretty well.)- Kindle Paperwhite 6, also sometimes called the 12th gen (I'm going to go ahead and rule this o

Would you buy a Nook? Why or why not?

Great write-up. Despite a lot of drawbacks, the hardware is great especially if you enjoy pageturn buttons. I have NOOK, Kobo, Kindle and Boox devices and always grab my NOOK GlowLight 4 or 4 Plus to read.

You ever notice you don't see so many broken Kindle screens?

Honestly, I've seen a fair few broken Kindle screens. Or posts about how people have scratched their Kindle screens. But, when it comes to personal experience, having owned a dozen or so different devices, from five different brands (Nook, Sony, Kobo, Kindle, Pocketbook) ... not one screen has been

Black and white plus buttons

I have a Pocketbook Era, the build quality seems excellent. I've only owned it since summer of 2024, having bought it used on eBay, but it's solid, and feels like quality. Pocketbook might be a bit more fiddly for dialing in your experience, there's a fair amount of customizations. If you don't plan

do i need a nook case?

I had the original Glowlight 4 and went with they basic/standard case that B&N offered in purple. I JUST ordered a ocean teal version (cause I couldn't say no) and ordered a more aesthtic case. Kindle vs kobo vs Nook

TL:DR - Buy the Clara BW Nook Glowlight 4 - Terrific hardware (likely the best of the bunch) but super basic software. Borrowing library books is a hassle. You will NOT be able to store your purchased ebooks anywhere. It is very difficult to download Nook books anymore. Kindle Basic - Basic is in th

Get my Nook Glowlight 4 Plus tomorrow!! SO EXCITED!!

If you converted your Amazon eBooks to EPUB, you should be able to connect the NOOK GlowLight 4 Plus to your computer with a USB cable and drag-and-drop the EPUBs onto the NOOK. Put the EPUBs in the "NOOK" folder. B&N does NOT give you a digital copy of your eBook. So you cannot "do the reverse" lik

Easiest/cheapest?

The Nook GlowLight 4 can be had for VERY cheap on the used market. Probably because the software is fucking god awful. So long as you're okay using a computer to transfer ebooks, it's a great option, although I would install KOReader to it. You can pick them up for like $60, and the hardware checks

What type of Glowlight did I just buy?

I loved that device!! I used it heavily when I was traveling and always liked that it was waterproof, so light rain drizzles didn't give me any pause when I was out and about. The N home button is also extremely reliable and quick, unlike the latest NOOK GlowLight 4 Plus. ENJOY!!
