[Switch] is this repairable?

Sounds like you just need a replacement shell Here's a guide: https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Nintendo+Switch+Left+Joy-Con+Shell+Replacement/130378 If it's just the rail that's broken, you can use this guide to replace it: https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Left+Joy-Con+Charging+Rail+Replacement/142938 Note

/r/NintendoSwitch's Daily Question Thread (04/28/2026)

So commonly, this is due to the controller failing to charge from the system. Eventually it just runs out of charge and dies. Hence, no longer working. Bad news, if you can't confirm that the fault was the joycon alone, then a replacement might face the same fate. If the system rail has broken. Then

What should I do? This just came off in my bag and it doesn’t go back on and the controller won’t work.

Yeah, this is one of those “lesson learned the hard way” things. Loose in a bag is pretty much the worst place for a Joy-Con to be, they really don’t like pressure or twisting at weird angles. I’d check Nintendo repair prices first, sometimes it’s not as bad as you’d think, especially if it’s just t

Nintendo's "apology" making headlines shows a major lack of accountability and awareness

That was kinda already on the list, as I said they don't include games in the cartridge. And when did Nintendo offer free repairs for Joy-Cons? I thought it was payed.

Controller Upgrade!!!

Legendary....huh? Is this revisionist history? You do know or remember that Nintendo is the only company to face a class action lawsuit because of their Joy-con stick drift issues, right? The materials they use are fragile and more prone to stick drift than the Dualsense and Xbox. They wouldnt even

Controller Upgrade!!!

Calling the Dualsense controller stick drift issue "legendary" is factually incorrect that ignores how Nintendo is the ONLY company that is forced to replace your Joy Con for free because of how bad its build quality is.

Nintendo's "apology" making headlines shows a major lack of accountability and awareness

No choice? NO CHOICE??? Literally every fuckup they have done like; not fix the Wii U's sadly bad marketing, closing the eShop on 3DS and Wii U, take down Miiverse, take down Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection + WiiConnect24 for Wii & DS, not include games in the actual cartridges on both Switches, take down
