What makes espresso pull stop
Interesting question. There are issues with the Luxe Café machines called the Ratio Fault, I had two of them before I walked away. At this price range Ninja are not doing anything too clever, it's mostly a water volumetric and time process. You've chosen, say a Double Espresso Strength***, 2:1 Ratio

Size inconsistency
10oz, what we call in the UK-EU version, Medium, so you're not tamping, correct. I had two 701's, both suffered what was later identified as the Ratio Fault, yours might have that. Do you make other drink styles, Espresso etc., or are you primarily Classic filter coffee drinkers. The reason why I as

Machine smoking
I've learned a lot about these machines, had two, and unlike you I couldn't love it. Don't get me wrong, in wanted to, I have four other Shark Ninja products, all great in their own way, but I had an early 701 Pro and it was utterly inconsistent, now known as the Ratio Fault, so the fact you have a

Ninja ES701 dispensing less coffee than selected? Anyone else?
Good on the not tamping. Some get this wrong on the 701. Barista Assist is the very worst part of these machines, even Ninja don't rate it, it's in their manual. I had two early 701's a year ago and both suffered what had now been identified as the Ratio Fault, Double Espresso Strength*** anywhere f

Is my shot pouring correctly?
703 might be a country specific number, in the UK-EU and a USA the Pro is a 701. Retention is when the grinder holds grinds from each previous grind cycles caused by static in the grinding process, and many machines being plastic rich they stick to almost every surface. There have been many images o

Changing grind size without portafilter
No. The portafilter has absolutely no bearing on the function of a grinder, they are separate things. However, the Ninja's Grinder has a grind chirp, micro grind, when you turn the grind dial finer to protect the burrs from getting beans stuck. You'll notice is doesn't do it on the way up the grind

Ninja Luxe Café ES701EU owners: how reliable is it after a few months? And how is Ninja support in Europe?
I have a theory on the 5* reviews, but it's only that. I think it depends on what you are coming from. If your currently a classic coffee drinker, drip type, cafeteria/French Press using shop bought pre ground coffee, or a Pod machine and dare I say Instant, and have traded up to the Ninja you'll gi

Simple basket
You should absolutely ignore BA...... always, not just on single basket shots. The very worst part of these machines. I understand the concept, for those who are new to Espresso, but a dreadful implementation on the Ninja. Dial in purely from shot time and Grind Size. You say you are using Strength*

Amazon bottomless portafilter with Ninja Luxe Cafe Pro (ES701)
Haha. I did. After two failed 701 Pro's a year ago with that has now been described as the Ratio Fault, I doubled my budget and opted for the Meraki, purely an Espresso machine. Everything I learned during 12 weeks of ownership of the two Ninja's, and much more besides, I now use to help others on h

Officially Over It
I returned my ninja luxe cafe. It just wasn’t consistent. I went and picked up a Breville Barista Touch since they are marked down right now. Hopefully the Breville does better. The store was going to sell me a floor model of Breville’s top tier espresso maker for 50% off. It was was very tempting bu
