What am I doing wrong?

Hi, I came from a Delonghi Magnifica S Smart Bean to Cup machine to the Ninja Luxe Café Pro so have some experience of the transition. Over the last year I've been developing a Ninja Basics script which might help. It's lengthy, but covers most issue, you might want to just dip into three bits that

Newbie questions.

Yes, the grinder will make a chirpy sound when grinding finer, this is to stop the top burr trapping beans and causing a jam as they are being brought closer together, but it's not necessary when gridding coarser. Don't expect to see an immediate change in the cup when you change grind size as there

Frustrated

Ouch. Brew temperature is bean roast level specific, not generally a taste thing. Your shot coming out in seconds is your problem as it should take at least 24-32 seconds. This might help Ninja's basics For your sanity only use Barista Assist (BA) as a guide to get you close to dialed in and once th

Always overbrews!

It's lengthy, do just find the sub-headings that suit your needs, dip in and out as needed, any other questions just ask. I have to do it in two parts, so the second part will be an answer to this section.*** Ninja's basics For your sanity only use Barista Assist (BA) as a guide to get you close to

Is it normal for Grind Setting recommend at 2?

Factory reset won't sort this. However, your bean selection might. Ninja in their Quick Start Guide and the Inspiration Guide under Brew Tips only recommend Freshly Roasted On date beans and not Best Before Date beans. It's how all Espresso machines are set up. You are using a Medium roast, which re

Bought my other half a luxe cafe pro, where is the best place to get beans from? I’m clueless when it comes to coffee

Hi Tom, Yes, this is a dip in and out document, just find the sub headings that suit your needs and maybe keep the rest for a night when your struggling to sleep, and it'll send you right of to the land of nod. Machine smoking

I've learned a lot about these machines, had two, and unlike you I couldn't love it. Don't get me wrong, in wanted to, I have four other Shark Ninja products, all great in their own way, but I had an early 701 Pro and it was utterly inconsistent, now known as the Ratio Fault, so the fact you have a

Always overbrews!

First, stop following Barista Assist, the very worst part of these machines. Ninja should have told you it's only a recommendation, their own manual terms you this. It is not Grind Size Almighty, you'll not go to the big fire if you ignore it and you just might get your machine to work for you. Over

Ninja ES701 dispensing less coffee than selected? Anyone else?

Good on the not tamping. Some get this wrong on the 701. Barista Assist is the very worst part of these machines, even Ninja don't rate it, it's in their manual. I had two early 701's a year ago and both suffered what had now been identified as the Ratio Fault, Double Espresso Strength*** anywhere f

Changing grind size without portafilter

No. The portafilter has absolutely no bearing on the function of a grinder, they are separate things. However, the Ninja's Grinder has a grind chirp, micro grind, when you turn the grind dial finer to protect the burrs from getting beans stuck. You'll notice is doesn't do it on the way up the grind
