I would never swap a Pyxis 6K for a Nikon ZR. That form factor and those files sizes are just a no go apart from using it as a B Cam. Having to add an extra plate for the capture clip in their own ecosystem is a miss to me. Also arguably 2 of the Nikons that could benefit the most, the ZR and Zf (both cameras I own and might have been interested in this for) aren't even compatible.

If the ZR is working great for your needs, then you should continue to shoot with it. The ZR is great in many ways and the image is punching away above it's weight. However, the ZR is not better than the FX5. One could argue it's better value... but outright better? I don't think so. I own the ZR. L

Serious production if you don't need dual card slots. Doesn't work well for weddings or 1 time events unfortunately. I would take the FX30 for paid jobs and Nikon ZR for making art.

So did you have idea why they put this feature on? I Am just confussed why they put in. Dont need open gate with Nikon zr, it is already there actually. Nikon Zr use 75℅ of sensor, and have enough resolution to use what open gate is use for.
