Look up Gerald Undones video on the ZR. If you actually work with the camera the FX3/S3 is still a much better option for your workflow and ofcourse lens availability. Having internal RAW is nice but the filesizes are definitely not. ZR had some issues as well with the image quality of smaller files

Nikon ZR is a one trick pony from what I seen. But it does that trick incredibly well. If you want Red Raw in a body that can do autofocus and has ibis, the ZR is that. However, the internal H265 codec is soft on it so the image quality only looks amazing in RAW. You’ll have to commit to the R3D lar

If the ZR is working great for your needs, then you should continue to shoot with it. The ZR is great in many ways and the image is punching away above it's weight. However, the ZR is not better than the FX5. One could argue it's better value... but outright better? I don't think so. I own the ZR. L

So did you have idea why they put this feature on? I Am just confussed why they put in. Dont need open gate with Nikon zr, it is already there actually. Nikon Zr use 75℅ of sensor, and have enough resolution to use what open gate is use for.
