Oddly enough, I think it's the other way around. Image quality, when it comes to still images, hasn't improved much in the last 15 years. You're unlikely to notice the difference between a shot taken with, say, a Nikon D800 and a Nikon Z6 Mark III. And if you shrink the image size, even a photo from

I went from the D7200 with 200-500 nikon to a z5-ii with 180-600 and it's been worth it, I think. I might have gone for the z6-iii if the firmware supported birds when I got the camera, but I was literally going on a birding trip the week after the Z5-ii came out, so waiting another half year was no

If you are thinking about going with the Z6II or Z7II I would recommend looking at the Z6 and Z7 too. The used prices of these are ridiculuous and nikon didn't really improve the af going to second generation significantly. That makes the Z6, Z7 a very good deal if you can live with one memory card.

I would advise another Z series body given you are switching from Canon. You can use Canon lenses on Nikon Z with the fringer EF to Z adaptor. I have one and its pretty damn good. The AF on most F mount lenses isnt that hot on Z. Its a pretty complicated topic but its partly the lens, partly the FTZ

I would not pay that. You can get a D850 used from MPB for $1,100-$1,700 all day, and they come with a 6 month warranty. The D850 IS a tank, and I would not hesitate to buy one of the cheaper "good" condition units over the pricier "like new" condition ones... especially as a hobbyist. You would be

A D780 is, for all intents and purposes, a DSLR Z6. They have the same sensor, the D780 has much better on-sensor AF for live view (comparable to z6 AF) plus a bunch of other features that mirrorless cameras tend to get. Z mount glass is "the future" I suppose, and is objectively better than F mount

I am a Fuji lover and shooter (note the use of "am" as I'm not leaving it, unless the Z6 (III) makes me feel that the Fujis can be replaced (which will be hard to do)). And the Fujis are APC-C not M43. Primarily it was Fuji's well-known issues with autofocus. I've been shooting with them since the b

If it's the 200-500 I think you're talking about (F5.6E ED VR) you've already got a legendary lens. When this was released it was recommended over any of the 180-600s simply because cropping the 200-500 to 600mm would leave you with a sharper image than any of the 180-600s would. I used it on a rece

I have the Nikon Z 100-400. It's great, but it is large and heavy. A good cross-body strap would be helpful. I like it but I don't use it enough to actually justify the expense. I went out shooting a local festival last year, and the 100mm minimum was always a consideration. I had to ignore some sho

100% Z6 ... The only problem of this camera is the intelligent autofocus (Focus to the eye, tracking subject), but if you keep old school using the Focus points, the camera is amazing, same imagen cuality as a Z5II and better (more dinĂ¡mic range) than Z6 III, profesional body (same as Z7 the top Nik
