Traded in some gear.

I bought a Fuji x pro 1 a few months ago and bought some lenses to go with it, turns out I’m not a fan of the range finder style camera. So I traded in the lenses for this pretty decent Nikon z50 with a 16-50 lens. Pretty stoked on it so far after shooting a couple shots today.

Some astrophotography with the Z50

Thought I'd post these astrophotography images of the neighbouring Andromeda galaxy and the slowly departing bright comet Tsuchinshan Atlas I captured recently.

These were both captured using a basic startracker and the Nikon Z50.

The optics were a 440mm focal length doublet refractor telescope fo

Back to Nikon! Prepare to see the worst photos taken with a Z8

Nearly 3 years ago I switched to Sony A7iii from a Nikon z50. The reasons were many, but mostly that there were no affordable fast zooms, be it 1st or 3rd party.

Now things have changed, and the Z mount has not only great native glass, but also some of my favorites from E mount. Unfortunately, Son

Simplicity

Nikon Z50 using the kit lens 16mm-50mm. I find simple images the most compelling ones. ☺️

Full Frame vs. Crop

Nikon Z50, refurbished from Nikon for $400, had like 50 shots on the shutter. It was cheap and I wanted some DX crop for my 200-500mm. AF sucks for moving objects, but still better shooting spider webs than my Nikon D750, I could not get it to lock focus at all. Video is so much better than any of m

Is Ricoh GR just better?

GRs are super portable, so you are inclined to take it to more places, take more photos and create more chances to take good picture. However, these are niche cameras with dogshit video quality, fairly slow fixed prime lens and mediocre at best autofocus - old Nikon D750 blows it out of the water an

When will Nikon care for APS-C users?

Nikon doesn't seem to restrict mount access very much, at least not nearly as much as people seem to think, it's most likely that they set a licensing price for certain lenses that is above what Sigma and Tamron are willing to pay, and also Z mount reportedly has a much higher development cost as it

Switch to Fuji for Lenses?

Didn’t Nikon just announce a 16-50mm 2.8 zoom for APSC? I would take that in a heartbeat over an APSC zoom starting at 17mm. That extra millimeter would drive me nuts—24mm equivalent is crucial on the wide end for me. Any reason you’re not looking at that lens? Anyway, if the Nikon 16-50 isn’t an op
