He's dead, Jim (D500 replacements?).
No Z8 II soon, it will be at least a year after a Z9II, and the only pro Z cameras (settings banks like you're used to) are the Z8 and Z9. The highest-end DX Z body is the Z50II, which is a D5x00 replacement camera and not nearly up to the pro standards. Why not just send it to Nikon and use their f

For plane photography would getting a Nikon Z6 III be better or Nikon Z7 II
But we don't live in a vacuum. We live in a world where the Z7 II costs double what the Z50 II does.

Mirrorless D500
Sadly, I don't think there will be. I was convinced that Nikon would release a $1500 APS-C camera with IBIS, maybe dual card slots and nicer specs than the Z50II (maybe a better EVF, slightly larger body etc) to give a successor to the D7500 (if not the D500), but Nikon released the $1700 Z5II inste

Looking to upgrade.
Nikon Z50 II and with an FTZ ... Nikkor 18-140 mm f/3.5-5.6, Nikkor 70-300 mm f/4.5-6.3, Nikkor 50 mm f/1.8G, Tokina 10-20 mm f/2.8G I mean, you can do that, but I wouldn't. Simply put, the new 16-50, 18-140, 50-250, and all wide angle options put the older F-mount lenses to shame. An FTZ is an expe

Z50II vs Z5II
Nikon Z50 II is lightweight & compact and so are the kit lenses. Unfortunately, there are very few professional and semi-professional grade lenses. What's more, the body relies on the built-in touch display for a number of interactions, which can quickly become an issue. Especially if it's below 0 C

z50 vs z50ii
Recent purchaser of a Z50 here. Instant regret not shelling out for the ii. I found out the hard way that when buying a (essentially) new camera, don't buy the previous gen. With the z50, the difference is even more pronounced. The processor alone is worth a couple of hundred extra bucks. I knew the

Official Question Thread! Ask /r/photography anything you want to know! April 03, 2026
Z50 II has the same size sensor as Z30, so the improvement in low light would be limited. Full frame gives you an improvement of about one stop of light at the same aperture number. But what is your budget for lenses? Full frame lenses tend to be expensive.

Thoughts on this Canon EOS Rebel T7 Costco is selling?
R10 vs. R50 isn't a huge difference. On the inside, they're actually almost identical. The R10 is nice to have, but if the R50 is within your financial reach and the R10 isn't, go with the R50. Price shouldn't be a huge difference either. In case the price difference is significant (IMHO the R10 is

Have used lens prices always been so high?
It's especially bad for mirrorless . Buy new on a deal . I posted last year - https://www.reddit.com/r/Nikon/comments/1p6ckyd/nikon_z50_ii_mirrorless_madness_new_and_used/

I wanna buy a beginners/ budget camera but need advice
Not sure how the market looks but probably should consider buying used anyway. You could also ask her what specific feature this camera has that the mark 2 or 1 don't have. Can't speak for point and shoots, but currently I am very pleased taking pictures on my d7200 which I bought used last year and
