Just curious why they picked the d3s for Man of Steel. Just after a bit of back ground was it considered a great camera back then. Lana used it to capture superman?

For the Netflix mini series The Residence, detective Cordelia Cupp uses a Nikon Z fc with the 16-50mm kit lens for birding. I’m willing to bet they just liked the aesthetics of the Z fc and didn’t bother to look into what lens would be appropriate to spot birds from 100 yards out.

Long overdue upgrade from Sony NEX 5r straight to Nikon Z50II: WOW

Nikon hasn't disclosed if the D7500 or Z50II have FSI or BSI sensors, the only thing we do know is that they use the same photosites as they test identically giving you the same output, and aside from the PDAF photosites and some modest speed improvements handle identically. For all photographic pur

I'm tired of the hate about the Viltrox lawsuit

According to a direct translation of the case: "Case Type: Dispute over royalties for the provisional protection period of an invention patent" Considering Viltrox is a lens manufacturer and Nikon is a camera manufacturer, it is extremely reasonable to surmise that this is about the Z mount. I agree

Firmware updates

Is the battery that you purchased, a genuine Nikon battery, or a third party battery?? Nikon has sometimes changed their firmware to brick the camera, when using an off brand battery. I am not saying that I am aware that they have done this to the ZFc, but it is possible. All Nikon firmware is a com

Snapbridge app, does it work seamlessly now in 2025? About to buy my first Nikon.

The Z50/Zfc/Z30 all have EXPEED6, which was released in 2018. It was behind the times in 2018, and although Nikon did a lot to make EXPEED6 cameras less awful than they were at release, they're still "usable" at best. EXPEED7, on the other hand, is competitive with Sony and Canon today. Unless you'r

Anyone switched from fuji to Nikon zf and regretted it ?

I switched from Nikon mirrored to Fuji. I was in the same boat, looking at the Zf and Zfc for a nice retro manual digital camera. I loved my FF camera and the depth of field it has (I have take many great photos with it.). I liked the Zf more than the Zfc, but neither truly offered that manual camer

Thinking of switching from Fujifilm to Z8. Lens suggestions please?

For casual birding, I used to shoot a Nikon 1 V3 with the CX 70-300 f/5.6, which would literally fit in a jacket pocket. I bought an AF-S 200-500 f/5.6 thinking it would be "Better because full frame is better". I've used it twice... In fact I switched to an OM-3 because of it. ...I love my Nikon ki

Travel Kit for Japan

By that argument, if I took the Z7ii, should I not take the 16-50/2.8 dx lens? If relying on cropping in post, another combo might be Z7ii + 14-30/4 + 50/2.8 MC (for faster, smaller lens + close ups) + 85/1.8. Like you I only plan to take one lens out for the day. Which capture clip do you recommend

Z5 is cheaper now than Z50ii. Should I get the Z5 in 2026 for travel and family photography?

I started with the Z6ii and the autofocus never quite did it for me. I got the Z6iii and man oh man is it the camera I love. Nikon Mirrorless didn't really hit its stride till the Gen2 IMHO (I don't count the Z6ii and the Z7ii as a real second generation as they just had dual processors). I got a Zf

Comparison Fujifilm XT-2 and Nikon Zfc

You are not wrong but the Nikon Z fc is not a great camera itself. The ergonomics are pretty terrible and it’s uncomfortable to hold for long. Despite the retro look, it feels surprisingly plasticky in the hand, and the Z-mount DX lens lineup is still very limited, which really holds it back.
