DSLR or Mirrorless?
I shoot a D3s, I mention it a lot so my apologies to people that have seen my comments before. I bought it just the other year for 500 CAD, with a reasonable shutter count of 57,000. It has not let me down at all as I start doing my own freelance work. But I know for a fact, that once I start making

Got the Z8. Mistake?
If size if your concern, good thing you didn’t get the Z9. The Z8 is wayyy smaller version of Z9 in comparison and should be fine for street and most other photography. Not sure what Leica you were shooting on before. The Z6iii is a bit smaller, better in low light has a slightly better battery life

Just upgraded my Z50 to a Z50II.
I sold my Z50 and Zfc, bought the Z50II body as soon as it was available. The amount of customization is worth the upgrade by itself, let alone EXPEED7 improvement. I have mine set up virtually identical to my Z8. I wish Nikon had an f/4 16-80 zoom.

Do the third party grips for the Zf completely make up for the ergonomic deficiency in the body or are users still making a compromise to get that vintage feel?
The ZFc is frankly not good value unless you buy used and know what you’re getting into. The ZF is a capable full-frame camera in a Fujifilm-esque body. The ZFc is a Nikon Z30 shoved inside a smaller version of the ZF. You get a nice looking metal body (albeit with a cheap feeling plasticky coating)

Week Two Wrap UP
That’s awesome! I too started on a film camera before I ventured back into digital, the last DSLR I had in 08(a Canon) was hard to understand. I swore off Nikon though, but in 2021 mom gave me dad’s old Nikon FG-20, and long story short this made me fall in love with both analog and Nikon, and I got

Selling the A7CII for a Fuji ie X-E5. Anyone else made a similar jump?
Your X-pro is incredible. I could easily go with my x-e5 PLUS a Nikon Zf or Zfc for my second camera. Both nicer to operate than Canon or Sony (esp Sony).

Which Fuji should I rent for an upcoming trip?
Nikon is having a sale of their referb units right now. Get a Zf or Zfc for the old school feel. Nikon updated their cameras to allow of recipes.

Should I get the nikon zfc or the nikon z50 ii?
Check out this thread on the Z50 ii: https://www.reddit.com/r/Nikon/comments/1sw6nbx/is_the_z50_ii_the_right_upgrade_from_a_d3400/ I think the Zfc or Zf is more about camera style and about a slower, more thoughtful photography experience. Take some time to set up the camera, then carefully compose the shot

Advice on what camera body should I buy
There is the Canon 5D Mk. II, Mk. III, and MK IV which are all newer. The earliest electronic viewfinders were disappointing and often headache-inducing, but I don’t think that’s as much of a problem anymore. I mainly use a DSLR for my serious work, but I do have a little Mirrorless for walking arou

Auto ISO (M vs AP) on Z8
OK, so after reading this, I'd highly recommend skimming through the manual. I've said this many times before; but the ZF (and ZFc) are perfect cameras for beginners because they have dedicated dials, with the values you select on the dials themselves. But on the Z8 (and most modern Nikon bodies), b
