Just curious why they picked the d3s for Man of Steel. Just after a bit of back ground was it considered a great camera back then. Lana used it to capture superman?
For the Netflix mini series The Residence, detective Cordelia Cupp uses a Nikon Z fc with the 16-50mm kit lens for birding. I’m willing to bet they just liked the aesthetics of the Z fc and didn’t bother to look into what lens would be appropriate to spot birds from 100 yards out.

I wish they made a black OM-3, this is what it would look like.
every camera that has any aspiration in being a retro body should be available in both silver and black, as both silver and black film cameras were generally available. Fujifilm undestood the assignment, all of their retro bodies come in either black or silver (if not more). But both OM and Nikon re

Yeah if you sort both subs by New and follow them for a while it does seem like there are more images and less chatter on Fujifilm. Probably several thi gs going on. Nikon historically has been more widely known and has made a lot more cameras than Fujifilm. A lot of gear questions in this sub are a

Can you shoot with film recipes on Nikon Zfc? Thoughts on the Zfc?
-EVF -Fully articulating screen -Flash -Film simulation in camera (less work in post) -Vintage/ retro camera design That's a long list, but due to the vintage/retro design that limits it to three Nikons: Df, Zfc, and Zf. The EVF and articulating screen limit it to the last two, and none of them have

Help me choose: Nikon Z fc vs Z50 II (first camera ever, mostly for animals)
My wife and I were wedding photographers who retired during Covid. We unloaded our DSLR gear at the time and took a small break. We jumped into mirrorless this year. My wife picked up a Z fc and I picked up at Z50ii. We are shooting purely for fun and not going back into business. I can’t stand shoo

Nikon z fc or Nikon z50II?
The sensor on the Zfc is exactly the same as the Z50ii and every other Nikon modern DX camera, 20.9MP. Any difference in their output is realistically placebo trying to justify the Zfc. If youre shooting RAW color depends on post editing, if you're shooting JPEG, it depends on in-camera profile. The

Thinking of switching from Fujifilm to Z8. Lens suggestions please?
For casual birding, I used to shoot a Nikon 1 V3 with the CX 70-300 f/5.6, which would literally fit in a jacket pocket. I bought an AF-S 200-500 f/5.6 thinking it would be "Better because full frame is better". I've used it twice... In fact I switched to an OM-3 because of it. ...I love my Nikon ki

why is Leica so prominent?
Well Nikon is trying to play the ‘heritage’ card with their Zf and Zfc models in terms of aesthetics looking somewhat like the FE models… but yeah nothing like a proper heritage model.

Am i crazy for wanting a zf so badly when the z6iii is available for pretty much the same price?
Yeah I'm confused, having less grip makes it more usable? It's fine if you like the zf lots of people do, but it's definitely not smaller than most bodies these days. E: if Nikon gets a full frame sensor into the zfc body I will switch in a heartbeat btw

Z5 is cheaper now than Z50ii. Should I get the Z5 in 2026 for travel and family photography?
I started with the Z6ii and the autofocus never quite did it for me. I got the Z6iii and man oh man is it the camera I love. Nikon Mirrorless didn't really hit its stride till the Gen2 IMHO (I don't count the Z6ii and the Z7ii as a real second generation as they just had dual processors). I got a Zf
