OM System Now Majority Owned By Former Olympus Camera Division Lead

The big one is that the Continuous AF with Tracking is nowhere near as good as Nikon 3D Tracking, and you can't set it to "any subject detect" like the Nikons. Then other things like you can't re-center the focus point by long-pressing "OK" unless you have moved it recently and it is active. Punch-i

Talk me out of a Z7.

So I come from a unique perspective, where I did the same thing 5 years ago, except I went from an E-m1II + E-M1X to a Z9 and Z6. Had all the 1.2 Pro lenses too, like it was balls-deep-peak-Olympus. What I learned, was no matter what you get in Nikon-land, it’s going to be better than an E-M1II, whi

Looking for a travel camera and first mirrorless

Nikon z50ii/zfc+24 F1.7 or 16-50 f2.8 Nikon z5ii / zf 40 f2 or 24-70 f4 And if action autofocusing isn't a huge priority Z5/6/7/6ii with 40 f2 or 24-70. Always the 24-120 option too!

Zfc in May 2026?

If this is your sole camera get the z50ii. I have the zfc and its incredible but it has a far worse AF than the newer nikon cameras

Discussion - see below

The only advantage of MFT is the weight and lens size advantage for travel. Panasonic's MFT bodies are the same size as their FF bodies, so the only advantage those have is readout speed for video. OM's camera-size advantage would disappear if Nikon released a Zfc II with Z50II autofocus and video.

Is it just me or a used Panasonic G9 is the best camera on the market?

It’s a great camera and well designed. If you’re into manual mode, you can even assign the ISO to the wheel in back. It truly is excellent. Learn the auto focus on the camera and it’s fine for photos. I prefer the viewfinder on my Nikon Z fc as Nikon seems to have this down in mirrorless. That being

Do the third party grips for the Zf completely make up for the ergonomic deficiency in the body or are users still making a compromise to get that vintage feel?

The ZFc is frankly not good value unless you buy used and know what you’re getting into. The ZF is a capable full-frame camera in a Fujifilm-esque body. The ZFc is a Nikon Z30 shoved inside a smaller version of the ZF. You get a nice looking metal body (albeit with a cheap feeling plasticky coating)

Upgrade my camera

In the grand scheme of things the Z50II is not that much larger or heavier than the other two given what you give up. The Z30’s lack of EVF and only moderately bright screen can certainly frustrate composing in bright sunlight or around sand and snow. The Zfc is a decent camera that is a little ligh
