Made the leap to Z today
16-year gap between my F and Z body. I've been holding off on moving to Z because too much of the value in my eyes is in video. I could get a Z6III for the E7 processor, but the majority of the money spent will be on video specs I'll never touch. While the Z bodies made with photo shooting in mind,

Please Nikon make a Z7 III
Well, I get you and in theory I would love a Z7iii... but that's effectively a Z8 without the AA filter with Nikon's current hardware capabilities. I think a Z7iii with something like an Expeed7 processor and fancy AF modes will happen when Expeed8 inside a Z8ii is a thing, otherwise they'd cannibal

The Z7 or Z7ii are still a leading class landscape camera. If landscapes are your thing, pick up a used Z7 on Marketplace for cheap. The only disadvantage to the original Z7 has to do with its slower AF and tracking algorithms. You don't need lightning quick AF for landscapes. That being said, how o

Z7ii or Zf to replace Nikon F6?
If you have already made up your mind to continue with film, I’d have them give me the Z7II. It’s worth more, and when you resell it, the extra money will help you get to the F6 faster. I would like to make a suggestion; why don’t you bang a couple of frames off and give the new camera a chance? You

So Long to the Z7 Platform?
As someone who makes their living primarily doing in studio or on set shoots the Z7ii is the perfect camera. Any shooting that happens with controlled lighting (headshots, architectural, product, food, fashion, etc) doesn't use AF, exposure modes, video, or any of the features that are being added t

Zf, Z5II or Z7II?
Z5II and Zf are similar enough that their choice is between better ergonomics and cooler looks. Z7II is if you want 45MP and don't care at all about autofocus. I'd say Z7II + 24-120 F4 makes more sense here, as I don't see any AF or aperture hungry subjects in your list

Popocatepetl, Mexico. Nikon Z7ii. Nikkor Z 24-70 & Nikkor Z 100-400
I would love any feedback! I'm trying to build a portfolio and move into commercial work. I use lightroom primarily. I have a lot of film emulation presets I use a shortcut to getting to a color space I'm happy with. From there I get my general exposure to a place I like then mask out specific eleme

For plane photography would getting a Nikon Z6 III be better or Nikon Z7 II
1.5x isn't necessarily how it works when comparing sensor sizes if the megapixels are vastly different due to pixel pitches. The z7ii has a pixel pitch of 4.35 um while the z50ii has a pixel pitch of 4.22 um. For reference the z6iii has a pixel pitch of 5.94 um. This translates into a pixel on the z

Change from D to Z!
The Z5ii is a good entry point to the Z system. It has the latest processor (Expeed 7) which means it has a robust autofocus system, good video specs etc., and it is relatively budget friendly. A step up in both features and $$$ is the Z6iii. It is also an Expeed 7 body with even more advanced autof

I’d be interested in a Z7iii too, but I doubt we’ll ever see one for the reasons already mentioned in this thread. That said, maybe your “pure photo” camera is already here in the Z7ii. I know—the autofocus isn’t as good as what you get with the Z6iii, and it lacks many of the newer Expeed 7 feature
