Just how bad is the Z7II's autofocus?
I'm not sure where this idea comes from, perhaps other than maybe the Z8/9 and newer Expeed 7-based cameras just being so much better by comparison (which they are). That said, I used Z6II and Z7II bodies for work for a few years, and they were "fine." I didn't like their subject tracking implementa

Is going from a Z7 to a D850 a downgrade, an upgrade, or a side grade?
I'm a professional and owned both. The image quality is near identical... They produce incredibly similar files. The D850 is a much more agile, and responsive camera though. It has way better AF and a faster drive. That comes with a huge weight penalty though. The Z7 is probably in the discussion fo

What camera should I upgrade to for an upcoming wedding shoot?
I used 2 nikom 750s as my secondary body for years and years, it's an excellent camera, and I have a Z6ii as one of my backups now and it is also decent. If you could find a used Z6iii in your budget, I'd recommend that over the z6ii just because the sensor quality feels like quite a step up from th

What is it with Nikon and Social Media
If you're a landscape photographer, sure. But as a wedding or event photographer, the Z6 was completely underwhelming and literally generations behind the competition.. Tracking was rudimentary. AF could not keep up with moving subjects, especially in low light. It didn't even have eye detection out

Z5ii vs Z6iii
I’ve gone through a big part of Nikon’s lineup (D80, D90, D7000, D7200, D600, D610, D800, D800E, Z6, Z6II, Zfc, Z50II, Z6III, Z8), not to mention the analogue bodies. In my experience, the image quality basically tops out somewhere around the D750/D600 generation. The difference in IQ between those

Sold all my f mount gear
To be fair as far as I can tell the z8 and z9 are the only z-series cameras that seem like an upgrade from a D850 for photography, especially if you really know how to use the D850 and aren’t considering the advantages of the Z lenses. Even then, at the end of the day if you use all three to the max

Z6iii versus Z6ii
As someone who owns both a Z6ii and a Z6iii the Z6iii is superior in every way. Z6iii Autofocus is Leagues better than the Z6ii Z6ii needs a $200 paid firmware update and to be sent to Nikon to unlock video feature that don't even scratch the surface of what the Z6iii can record also to take advanta

Z6 vs Z6ii
Honestly I wouldnt recommend either for professional event shooting especially wedding photography. They're both fine for hobbyist, product, and portrait photography Definitely not the Z6 due to only having a card single slot It's possible to do but I would not trust the autofocus on that level Z6ii

Really leaning towards getting a z8 I’ve wanted it for years .. is the auto focus on the z8 and z6iii that similar ?
I have the Z50ii (one of the newest bodies and AF systems) and the Z8. I'd say the AF performance with the same lenses is pretty similar, but there are less "misses" on the Z8, especially with the 180-600, but I think the higher frame rate and blackout free view finder is doing a lot of the work. Which Nikon Z cameras have an AA filter? Looking at the Z30 for manual lenses
Z6 Unidirectional if I don't recall wrong. And way too weak just like with all AA filters. The original Z6 is generally regarded as having a relatively noticeable/strong AA effect Those who think so don't know what they talk about: https://www.dpreview.com/image-comparison/?attr18=Daylight&normaliza
