Is going from a Z7 to a D850 a downgrade, an upgrade, or a side grade?

I'm a professional and owned both. The image quality is near identical... They produce incredibly similar files. The D850 is a much more agile, and responsive camera though. It has way better AF and a faster drive. That comes with a huge weight penalty though. The Z7 is probably in the discussion fo

Which Nikon Z body is best for dog photography with strong AF tracking (without going to Z8/Z6III)?

Yes, the D850 is a DSLR and it’s expected to work well, but if you want to buy a Nikon Z and not regret the purchase in the long run, you should go for a model with the EXPEED 7 processor. Cameras with EXPEED 6 work well, but they lack many modes and features. The Z5II uses the same sensor as the Zf

Z6 vs Z6ii

The newest generation of bodies has qualitatively better AF than the Z6ii / Z7ii. Nikon really stepped up here. As others have suggested the Z5ii is a great pick here. It also gives you dual SD card storage. Redundancy is essential for wedding photography.

Z6iii versus Z6ii

As someone who owns both a Z6ii and a Z6iii the Z6iii is superior in every way. Z6iii Autofocus is Leagues better than the Z6ii Z6ii needs a $200 paid firmware update and to be sent to Nikon to unlock video feature that don't even scratch the surface of what the Z6iii can record also to take advanta

What camera should I buy?

Skip the first gen Z6, the Z6II is a bare minimum. But if budget is tight, go for a D750 (FX) or D500 - but the D500 (DX) will tie you to crop lenses, while a full frame (FX) camera will give you the option to use the same lenses on mirrorless (if recent lenses) with the FTZ adapter. Using a Z6 pure

Z6 vs Z6ii

Honestly I wouldnt recommend either for professional event shooting especially wedding photography. They're both fine for hobbyist, product, and portrait photography Definitely not the Z6 due to only having a card single slot It's possible to do but I would not trust the autofocus on that level Z6ii

Z5 II: Protecting lens release button - is it possible?

On F-mount cameras, there's always space (be it just few millimeters) between button and body edge. Similarly when you look at Z6 III - button is slightly moved towards body. In contrary Z5/6/7 II has button directly on the edge - perhaps more prone to be pressed when camera bumps to things. I'm una

What is it with Nikon and Social Media

Offering starter kits has been around for decades amongst all brands, that was not a move to correct anything. Before the D3xxx series, they had the D40. Even in film SLR's, you had cheap entry level kits. So did Canon. Sony (and Canon) are solid in the cine & vlogger world. Nikon would need to offe

Z6II or Z5II

Refurbished Z5ii goes for 1350 in Nikon refurbished currently and that's hell of a deal for a perfect entry level full frame that punches way more than an entry level camera.... It is also equally hybrid camera compared to Z6ii but video autofoyand still autofocus will be much more usable... Nikon f

Abes of Maine warning

Bought a z6ii from them, with 3 year extended a week ago. Menu buttons don't work consistently and the hdmi feed is spotty. I shoot macro and NEED hdmi because my eyes suck. Called to initiate a repair/replacement and the asshole customer service rep acted like it was my fault or as if i was making
