Thoughts on pro audio interfaces as DACs

I am a HiFi dealer, and my at home setup is an audio interface and a pair of studio monitors as well. RME ADI-2, Neumann KH80, DSP corrected plus the room is acoustically treated. There is nothing either better or more compact in my opinion, and the DAC is great as a connection to other gear like he

Speaker Question / Looking for Sound Quality

Kali LP6v2 is good, as is the JBL 308. Personally, I'd recommend the Neumann KH80 with bonus points for MA-1 included. For headphones, some Linsoul x Crinacle Zero IEMs are fantastic for $25. Speakers are a tricky subject, but the bottom line is that you can apply EQ with a bit of technical knowledg

Has anyone else got disappointed in music after you went hi-fi?

I distinctly remember getting my first discman with clip-on Sony headphones, listening to a hiphop CD and wondering why the kickdrum was obscuring the bass, if that was a mistake, deliberate choice, or unavoidable. I have always analyzed music for how it sounds, couldn't help it, so I was naturally

Upgrading to Multichannel Setup- Need Advice

Unless people are knocking down your door for atmos mixes 5.1 should be plenty and you can always upscale in the future if you need too. I was in your position recently and went for Neumann KH120 (LCR), KH80 (LsRs) and KH750 (Sub). They were out of my budget originally but having good calibration wa

I'm done with Sonos: Part 2

Neumann KH80 - the integrated DSP and software only work with the Neumann corrective eq, and it demands that you type in the serial number of the microphone before measurement to apply a corrective curve to the microphone itself. I’d say it’s mind boggling how good it is, miles ahead of the stuff th

I only have an hour today. Shame me for plugin it in to $50 Monitors off of Craigslist.

I’d suggest Neumann. Kh120 or kh80 in a smaller room.

As audiophile as I can get, on a gaming desk setup

Thanks for your comment man. I actually do have the ISOs and like you said with the tall option, I also don’t feel they are that rigid. I also have their Apertas, which I think is really good, especially aesthetically. They don’t come with the tall option and even though you can lift the front up a

Kali Lp6v2 vs higher end brands?

For your setup, the Kali LP6v2 gives excellent value - wide sweet spot, solid low-end for the price, and pairs well with Sonarworks. In a small untreated room, the Genelec 8010A or Neumann KH 80 will translate better due to tighter imaging and built-in DSP (in KH 80). If you can grab KH 80s used wit

Audio monitors placement in assymetrical room

The best choice (must have) for an untreated room is to use monitors with built-in DSP and room correction. Such as Neumann KH 80 DSP / KH120 II etc., IKmultimedia iloud micro monitor Pro / MTM II / Precision 5 etc.

Looking for Studio Monitors ~$2,000–$3,000 for Small Home Studio (Experimental Electronic / Ambient / Indie Pop / Contemporary Classical)

Neumann KH 80 + KH 750 or Genelec 8030 + 7050, both with DSP room correction. The bass won't be excessive with properly placed and tuned sub, actually it will be excellent. I personally recommend purchasing a measurement mic, it will help with positioning and equalization - the results will pleasant
