Let’s See Those In-room Response Curves!

Minidsp Flex driving two Neumann KH-120 II's and a pair of OG SVS SB-1000 subs in fullrange stereo mode. Heavily treated small room, focused on tight balanced decay across frequency range for analytical nearfield use. Target curve 6dB bass boost from flat. The subs have evil THD below 35Hz so I drop

Are Genelecs really worth it?

There's two reasons I can think of. Can harshness be explained entirely through frequency response? And the second reason is that the genelec required better room correction in order to sound right. I've used the Neumann kh120 that has similar if not better response, but it doesn't sound harsh at al

Which monitors to upgrade from Kali In-8's

Neumann KH310 or KH120 II if you want integrated DSP on the condition that you buy or borrow an MA1 measurement mic. Flat as a pancake in the right space.

Genelec 8040B vs Barefoot footprint03

I love the genelec 8331. I think the 8040 and the barefoot both make everything sound good which is fun but doesn’t lead to good mixes that translate. Amphion are awesome. Adam A8 are incredible mixing tools. And the Neumann kh120 are very honest as well

Looking for Studio Monitors ~$2,000–$3,000 for Small Home Studio (Experimental Electronic / Ambient / Indie Pop / Contemporary Classical)

You will need EXTENSIVE treatment if you want to get anywhere close to a decent mix environment in a room that small. That is the EXACT size as my room and it took me thirty eight 6" and 9" thick bass-traps with a 6" air gap on all walls, all corners and ceiling to get my room to the point it was us

Just an audio curiosity

If you want to listen to music with pinpoint accuracy, and you are a rational person, you would indeed build the equivalent of a recording studio control room, or a mastering engineer room. But without the mixing desk, effects racks, etc What does that look like? 1. the room has acoustic treatment f

Why everyone on here think passive speakers are always better than active.

Based on cursory glance in Spinorama, 1500 euro budget might allow reaching spinorama score better than 6.5 after equalization, which is already very good. Something like Neumann KH-120-II should do the trick, especially if you want near field listening unit. Passives exist for similar tonal accurac

Looking for some desktop speakers, around 1k usd, used is ok

It’s certainly worth listening to the Berliners from Adam Audio. Personally, I like the sound of my Adam A7Vs a little better than the competition from Neumann & Genelec, even if this is very subjective and all three manufacturers are impeccable. If you buy second-hand, you could have a look at the

Home Office Speaker - Desktop Placement / Nearfield Listening

Yeah the BMRs would be too large. I need to dig a little deeper on the miniDSP, which sounds like it would be an obvious need/immediate upgrade for the room. I really like the Neumann KH120 (reviews seem very similar to G3, maybe a little more "flat" profile?) but the MA-1 room correction seems very
