Genelec 8040B vs Barefoot footprint03
Neumann KH 120 II, aligned with MA 1, are hard to beat at that price point.

Getting rid of my ATCs and would like advice on my next setup
totally get it - atcs in an apartment is overkill even if they sound incredible. since you're used to that level of detail, you'll want something that still translates well. i'd check the Neumann KH 120 II monitors, they're right in your range and give you that surgical precision without the price t

Getting rid of my ATCs and would like advice on my next setup
$3500 budget -$1500 headphones -$300 pair of Presonus Eris E7XT b-stock (https://www.ebay.com/itm/277550277570) -$1,700 complementary studio cocaine ------- profit or if you want to dip into the cocaine budget, I really love my Dynaudio LYD-8s. The 7s are good too. I have them in a treated room with

Why everyone on here think passive speakers are always better than active.
Based on cursory glance in Spinorama, 1500 euro budget might allow reaching spinorama score better than 6.5 after equalization, which is already very good. Something like Neumann KH-120-II should do the trick, especially if you want near field listening unit. Passives exist for similar tonal accurac

Is there any hope for me being able to do a "good" mix without expensive monitoring equipment? (especially when working with synths?)
It depends on your innate talent (I don't have a lot) and the time you can put into it (I've got a lot of that). I do think having good reference monitors is really really important, and while I don't have it in me to write the dissertation it would take to convince the reddit folks who disagree I h

LS50 Wireless II or wait?
Op specifically said they don't want passives. BTW Kef brings value to the table. They are the best speakers at their respective price point, but if they are more expensive in the ops country, he should look at another brand. Paradigm and Wharfedale are brands that I prefer to Kef. I own all three.

Deciding on which studio monitors to purchase for a beginner producer looking to future proof
So true! Yes, The Ones are the latest kind with Room Correction system. Also if OP is in a small room (which needs nearfields) I heard sooo many praises about the Neumann KH120 II + MA1 (Correction system). They’re even more “neutral and unforgiving” for mixing than the Genelec, and are quite afford

Need an advice: Genelec vs Focal vs Neumann
i auditioned a bunch of these, and some much higher up, recently. all of them are good-to-great. I also heard a $100k Genelec installation around the same time so I think I have an OK frame of reference. Gen 8020 was a bit bass-light. Gen 8030 sounded amazing but the bass was a bit tubby and indisti
