Stay away from Netgear Orbi, Nighthawk bad products and worst customer service ever!

Just changed over from a orbi 770 with two satellites to a Eero Max 7 with an extra satellite. I never really dealt with support. Honestly I it used to be pretty good. Running Xfinity 1gig service. I started running into issues with updates. Lots of drops throughout the house. I have switched over t

Worst WiFi system - Orbi 770

Go figure! I bought the Orbi 770 early this year to replace my Linksys Velop Pro 7 MBE7000 for this same reason, constant disconnects requiring rebooting. For me, the Orbi fixed the problem wonderfully. Only strangeness I noticed with the Orbi was an almost daily 20 sec disconnect at night, which al

Frustration Post

Yes that's how I always deploy my new wifi hardware. I went from old school Netgear Wifi 5 -> Google Nest Wifi Pro -> Orbi 770 -> Eero Max 7 all keeping the same SSID until recently when I decided to retire the old creds.

Getting into a UniFi System

It's still going to net them better and more reliable and consistent performance than Netgear if they're coming from Orbi 770/870/970.

How can I get 2.5 GB/s ethernet at each of my Mesh Devices (TP Link XE75 Pro)

I'm not sure why they make routers in this configuration. They're cheaper, but they create this type of problem. If you want to have your entire internet bandwidth available to all satellites, you'll need a new mesh system. I have a Netgear Orbi 770 series that has 2.5 GB ports and has been solid. I

Current deal Orbi 870

I think 99% of regular joe consumer users don't care about any of those issues you mention. Outdoor? Upgrading hardware? Who needs more than 3 satellites? I'm using an Orbi 770 3-node system with zero issues. I can get 1.5Gbps on my phone anywhere in the house and garage, on my 2Gbps fiber connectio

Any good experiences with Orbi WiFi 7 mesh systems?

I recently (2 months ago) replaced my 5 1/2 year old Netgear Nighthawk X6S (R7690P) Wi-Fi router plus a Nighthawk X4 Range Extender with an Orbi 770 Wi-Fi router with 2 satellites. I have one of the satellites connected via Ethernet and the other via Wi-Fi. I, too, was a little concerned when readin

Orbi 770 versus Orbi 850 (RBK853) - wifi range to satellites?

My experience: The Orbi 850 has a better range, but the stability is much better with the Orbi 770, especially with iPhones not dropping anymore. Additionally, the design is sleeker, faster Ethernet ports (although less), you can use all WiFi channels (no channel is reserved for wireless backhaul al

How much nicer is the Orbi 770 vs the Orbi ax6000

You can use all WiFi bands in Ethernet backhaul (nothing reserved for wireless backhaul when in Ethernet backhaul), it is much more stable for me with iPhones, the design is prettier, it doesn’t get as hot, it has faster hardware and ports. I am extremely happy with my Orbi 770 mesh system.

WiFi 6 Vs WiFi 7 mesh which should I upgrade to?

If you’re heavy on Apple devices then WiFi 7 won’t be coming for a while and you should be okay with a WiFi 6E router for the next 5 years. However, if you want to go forward with you can look at Ubiquiti CG Fibre and U7 or UX7 AP. The router should be future proof and allow you upgrade your AP node
