Wireless to Wired
I would pay a bit more for a WRT-capable router, as the other commenter recommended. Netgear, ASUS, and Eero are the best brands I've used in residential deployments. Check out Netgear's Nighthawk RAX50 (WiFi 6 capable, and costs ~$150-200). If you want WiFi 7 capability, look at the Nighthawk RS300

AT&T Fiber 1000 Download Speed Help.
Get a netgear wifi 7 router like the rs300 it works great I have one. Put your fiber gateway in pass through to the router and the netgear would handle everything and you would hit better speed.

Tried the Quest 3 with a cable and Meta Link software. Do I need to try Virtual Desktop?
I've chosen a Netgear Nighthawk RS300 as I had a good price in EU, it is a wifi 7 router but a wifi 6E will be enough for the Quest 3. As mentionned above, it will work best when ised only for VR and not in a crowded area, this is where the 6Ghz band is preferred. I've set up my router in access poi
