Looking for a "buy once, cry once" backpack (around 30L) for work + occasional travel

Love my Mystery Ranch 2 Day Assault Pack. Carries well and the laptop sleeve (as opposed to a separate compartment) and weird zipper let me use every last liter.

Recommendation for commuter backpack for petite woman

Good luck! I love my Mystery Ranch 2 Day Assault Pack. You can get it in a few colors, it has an adjustable torso, it actually wears legitimately well. I really wanted Osprey to offer me something good because I'm kind of a fanboy but they have pretty anemic hip belts on all the commuter packs. Mayb

Can someone suggest a better way to pack this?

I wondered what the blue thing was. I don't get a lot out of organizers either. And at least for work I like to have a couple paper notebooks. I loved my Mystery Ranch 2 Day Assault Pack for a previous job. Between the laptop sleeve and tablet sleeve you'd get better organization for your light boar

Everyday backpack recommendations?

You know you usually get a few years of closeout and eBay availability after something like that is discontinued... And on that note, I love my Mystery Ranch 2 Day Assault Pack. It might be more "work" than "everyday" but honestly I don't even know what people mean with "everyday," though I like it

What backpack should I use?

I upgraded my son and I to new packs this year. Slightly over your budget, but sales and overstock can get you pretty close. I went with the Mystery Ranch 2-day assault pack for him. Pretty nice pack for a good price. It’s designed to be more like an EDC pack than an actual military/hunting pack. It

Best hybrid EDC Back

I haven't tried skiing in my Mystery Ranch 2 Day Assault Pack but it carries really well for an everyday pack. It also moves fairly well with a laptop in the sleeve. On the flip side, my actual ski pack, an Osprey Soelden 42, doesn't come out of the box with great organization but it's good to ski i

Bag recommendations for field work

I have a Mystery Ranch 2 day assault pack. Comfortably carries a gallon of water in a bladder, all my field gear, med kit, lunch etc. it has zippered pockets on the inside, open pockets on the inside. Kinda pricy but I use it for non-work extracurriculars too. I used to have an osprey lite daypack b

Small bag with padded hip straps

I had trouble with this myself and only half won. Or maybe 1/3. I landed on the Mystery Ranch 2 Day Assault Pack. It has a legitimately good yoke. The hip belt is unpadded but thick and the pack does a good job transferring load into it. Mine's blue and people sometimes ask me if I'm going hiking so
