I wish I could combine these devices into one
MSI Claw A8 may be what you’re looking for. 8 inch screen, 80Whr battery, Z2 extreme, good ergonomics, supports bazzite linux if you’re willing to put in an hour of work.

What Made You Choose the Claw 8 AI+ Over Other Handhelds?
For me, I was trying to decide between the Claw and the Xbox Ally X. Now MSI was kind enough to release a near identical device as the Xbox Ally X with the Claw A8, so we were able to see some performance benchmarks and in game FPS ahead of time. What it came down to for me (I bought the Claw 8 AI l

First handheld
Sorry if my English isn't quite right. It should be translated automatically. I have the ROG Xbox Ally X, the Claw A8, and I used to own the Claw 8 Ai+. If you don't mind a 7-inch screen, choose the ROG Xbox Ally X. Asus is a reliable brand, and games generally run better, even if the difference is

Is upgrading my Legion Go S (Z2 Go/16GB) worth it for heavy AAA games?
Extra ram can increase FPS in some games. It mostly give stable low FPS. Z1e will give 10-15% FPS boost and IT still depends on game. Z2e show benefis on lower Wats compare to z1e. 15w is like 20w od more. As for bazzite on MSI claw A8. IT works almost Perfect(without microSD card), exept left/right

Are the Z2 Extreme devices likely to significantly improve in the future with software/driver updates?
Given the upcoming future (Legion GO 2 absurd price, ram and storage shortages and prices, Value delaying the upcoming console), I believe we will be stuck with current hardware for quite a while, if the pc/linux handheld category survives at all. And yes, being able to get z2e now before getting cr

I got Resident Evil 7-9 on the Switch 2!
Nice!! Handheld gaming is so awesome.I have the games on my Steam account and often play them on my Msi Claw A8 during break at work. I heard that the games are well optimized on the Switch 2 so you're in for a great experience.Enjoy!! I too am dying to play Requiem.

Am I just unlucky with the games I want to play?
msi claw 8 ai is the most powerful console when it works.... But the compatibility with old games makes her stutter or having sometimes light issues. I kept mine (i hope a better compatibily update) but i mainly play on my claw A8, the Z2 chip has no issue on old games.

Did I make a mistake? 😭
I own every model of the MSI Claw, and from my testing, around 90% of the games I’ve run side by side perform better on the MSI Claw 8AI+. If you’re also willing to tinker like disabling certain cores and threads you can squeeze out a pretty significant gain. For example, in Forza Horizon 5 I was ab

Claw A8 vs XAX
I've owned every Claw except the 7 AI+, and the only things that leave something to be desired are the vibration motors and the MSI Center software. I recently tested the original Claws, and in most games, they perform similarly to or better than the Z1E, while the 8 AI+ performs better than the Z2E
