MSI Claw A1M (Ultra 5) - Battery drain seems excessive?

I own both the Ultra 5 and Ultra 7 models of the MSI Claw A1M, and that battery drain is completely normal. Most of the time, you’re looking at around 1 hour of battery life. My lowest recorded session was around 53 minutes. Even using PCSX2 at a lower wattage, I was only getting just over an hour a

Handheld collection go brrr🥶

Cool ROG ally! I have a MSI Claw a1m 7m, myself. I think it's a similar device. I--and I'm talking about myself and MY device, not dissing yours-- have a love/hate relationship with it haha. Can I do a quick vent? Good: -I've played SOOO many hours of Ghost of Tsushima on it and that was so fun. -Ju

I know it’s the white version but I’m happy

Very nice choice !Mine is now repaired by asus because b button was blocking itself if you press it left part of it. Using warranty. Other than that it's the best handled/windows fse experience so far. I came from a more powerfull MSI Claw A1M, battery was melting so fast and unreliable and more com

Please help me.

MSI Claw A1M is actually more powerful but the APU is so power hungry that even with all the tinkering APU consumes 8-10 watts when idle and has 53 wh battery. 8-10 watts of usage means 6 or more hours of gameplay for Xbox Ally which packs 60 wh battery. But the MSI Claw A1M is better for harder to

Buying Advice After Reading MegaThread

Since battery life is so important, I can only recommend the Steam deck OLED, ROG Ally X, Xbox Ally X, and MSI Claw 8AI. All of these are top class for battery life and will get a minimum of 2 hours when maxed out. Most games can be within the 3-5 hour range depending on TDP and settings/frame rate.

How is your Steam Deck doing ?

I've got MSI Claw A1M and... 1080p/120hz screen, 1TB nvme and hall sticks are nice, but at the end of the day, Steam OS makes experience way more seamless and polished than janky, bloated Windows 11 with various MSI overlays that constantly have issues. On top of that, the Claw power draw vs perform

My diy gyro racing setup GyroDrive

that's quite an achievement.I guess that's an MSI CLAW A1M that you are using right? I used t have this handheld but sold it as not performant enough and battery life was poor for Gaming on the Go. I would have never thought to make it a steering wheel for my rig. Really curious to see more details

Suiplay0x1 for gaming compared to Asus ROG Ally (2023)

Unfortunately, the Ally X is significantly more expensive in my country, and I compared it to the Ally 2023. I'm also considering the MSI Claw A1M, which has become much more powerful after updates, but battery life is poor due to the Intel chip. I also just found the KONKR POCKET Fit yesterday. I l

Anyone gone from the deck to a better performing handheld, but continued to use their deck?

Got MSI Claw A1M. It has better performance, screen and joysticks, but TDP is absolutely awful. Running it on max TDP kills battery in 1h 15m. Even on lowest TDP it's bad, as it can't go below 20W. Steam Deck is wayyy more efficient with TDP scaling making it great for battery for less demanding gam
