iPad vs. Laptop - Project Supers

Microsoft Surface Pro 9 is what we use. It's a tablet and a laptop. Also comes with a pen so you can draw shit if needed. Can't beat it. The PMs get actual laptops.

Google's Linux Terminal plays a big part in turning Android into a true desktop OS -- "Google's new Linux Terminal could make Android a true rival to Windows and macOS"

Tbh I am on LineageOS, which is better than what my vendor shipped with (Xiaomi 🙄). But I just wanna be able to use my phone as a "computing device" y'know. Like my computer. Termux is a great tool for that and I absolutely love termux but it's limitations are pretty obvious. I bought a Microsoft su

Any thoughts on an iPad for a math student? Workflow recommendations?

My partner uses an Intel i7-based Microsoft Surface Pro 8. Her university provides Microsoft, Zoom, Canvas and Adobe, so she has the option of taking notes, sharing, collaborating etc. on any of those platforms. These clouds (and Google's, of course) are accessible on her phone as well, so in the ev

Linux on a Surface Laptop Studio

None of that has to do with the distro (CachyOS). What Desktop Environment were you using? I use CachyOS with KDE Plasma6 on a Surface Pro 9 and the only thing not working is the camera. I can change desktops or windows with touchscreen gestures.

Surface Pro 12" (2025) is too expansive for what you get.

Surface devices have bever been cheap and, other than the occasional target market product, never will be. Have you missed that little fact for more than a decade? Same goes with the detachable keyboard - missed the fact some have made the comment since SP1? As for the device itself, people wanted a

Favorite Tablet for Using OneNote?

I have used OneNote on a stylus-capable Windows laptop since about 2002. I'm using a Surface Pro 9 now. This is my fifth stylus-capable Windows laptop. I wouldn't do it any other way. A used, refurbished, or open box Surface device in not really much more expensive than an iPad or good stylus-capabl

Dante box over network as Anubis Mt48 or go to pcie card ?

I'm running my DAD AX Center from a RME HDSPe-AoX-D PCIe Dante interface with a latency setting of 1 ms. That's a 128-byte buffer at 96k. The setup dialog would theoretically allow me to cut that in half, but I haven't tested it. DAD claims that you can get that down to 0.67 milliseconds over Thunde
