Any good computer shops?

Its a fairly easy process You'd just need a 2230 M.2 SSD and some way of migrating the old data or a fresh Windows 11 install. Best to get a shop to do it if none of the above made sense. At least Microsoft made the upgrade easy on the Surface Pro 9. Prior models required taking the whole thing apar

Google's Linux Terminal plays a big part in turning Android into a true desktop OS -- "Google's new Linux Terminal could make Android a true rival to Windows and macOS"

Tbh I am on LineageOS, which is better than what my vendor shipped with (Xiaomi 🙄). But I just wanna be able to use my phone as a "computing device" y'know. Like my computer. Termux is a great tool for that and I absolutely love termux but it's limitations are pretty obvious. I bought a Microsoft su

Any thoughts on an iPad for a math student? Workflow recommendations?

My partner uses an Intel i7-based Microsoft Surface Pro 8. Her university provides Microsoft, Zoom, Canvas and Adobe, so she has the option of taking notes, sharing, collaborating etc. on any of those platforms. These clouds (and Google's, of course) are accessible on her phone as well, so in the ev

Linux on a Surface Laptop Studio

None of that has to do with the distro (CachyOS). What Desktop Environment were you using? I use CachyOS with KDE Plasma6 on a Surface Pro 9 and the only thing not working is the camera. I can change desktops or windows with touchscreen gestures.

Surface Pro 12" (2025) is too expansive for what you get.

Surface devices have bever been cheap and, other than the occasional target market product, never will be. Have you missed that little fact for more than a decade? Same goes with the detachable keyboard - missed the fact some have made the comment since SP1? As for the device itself, people wanted a

Help determining between a 13" 2-in-1 Surface Pro vs. 13.8" Surface Pro Laptop for Service Tech work

I use the Adobe suite which is far more power-intensive than Microsoft's software and it runs well on my Surface Pro 11 (13"). There are better specs on the Surface Pro than the Surface Laptop line. You get the Laptop when you want the bigger screen or the traditional form factor. For example, the r

Surface X86 dying a slow death as a product?

My Surface Pro 4 was dying a slow death so last month I was looking to replace it. I was deeply disappointed that there are now virtually zero x86 products - So I wound up buying a refurbished x86 Surface Pro 9. I'm writing this post on it and so far I've been very happy with it.

If exist, a Linux for daily use, for Surface Pro 11 with Snapdragon + ?

Does not exist in any useable form. If you want a Surface Pro for Linux, please use a Surface Pro 9 or lower.

A realization after owning nearly every major handheld: It's not about the specs.

That's not the point. My problem is not windows. I actually like windows and I also own the surface pro 9. My issue is the full package that includes , triggers, sticks , sound and also rumbles . For me you need all of that including the screen to bring a great experience.
