Why people don't use Linux

Like windows, my Microsoft surface laptop 7 didnt work well, every windows update kept failing, it took months before I managed to fix it by downloading an iso and repairing corrupted system files.

Should I install Linux?

Another thing is, it can't update to Windows 11. Yes, might as well keep it with an OS that still gets security patches >I don't have any knowledge about Linux, I've only heard that it does certain things better than Windows. All the things you mentioned you should be able to do with any linux distr

By reflex, I take everything available through update manager.

Well, Windows Primetime was Windwos 7 and Windows 10, which you’ve never Experience if you left the OS in 98. If Microsoft just kept things as they were with these 2 OS and just didn’t try to steal your data, install bloat/malware and just kept their stupid AI shit optional, a lot more people wouldn

laptop recs

Microsoft surface pro I have a regular 2025 microsoft surface laptop and a standard model iPad but truly wish I got the surface pro, which is basically the combination of the two. Allows for more versatile use on one device, uses Windows, and you don’t have to lug around 2 heavy devices everyday.

On top of that, This laptop hates Grub and deletes the custom kernal entry now and then and my sy

Laptop recommendations for Pre Business & Economics

My nsa said a mac is good but if you take any coding classes you'll have to use a computer from the library or something like that since mac doesn't run those programs. I'm looking at maybe getting the Microsoft surface laptop as it runs all programs well but have seen mixed reviews that it starts g

Is this a good deal?

Thank you for such a detailed response! I’m mostly just looking for something that will be reliable and hopefully last for several years. The Microsoft Surface Laptop I bought in 2019 doesn’t receive updates anymore and its performance is steadily declining.
