Surface Pro 12" VS refurb go and Linux

As a Surface Go 2 owner, I would not hesitate to go with the Surface Pro 12”. It’s the newest Surface tablet and is quite speedy and has super battery life. My Surface Go 2 has the fastest processor that was offered back then—I think it outpaced some of the Surface Go 3s. Yet just logging in feels l

Aluminum FW12

I use a Surface Go 3 as a versatile tablet for flights and full capability machine when I'm away. (There isn't anything I can't do on it, just nothing I can do fast. Where an android tablet was always a struggle). It also sips electricity. The Framework 12 looks like a good replacement, the 2p+8e se

Surface Go 3 slow booting up finally solved!

I was running the latest Win 11, 25H2, on my Surface go 3 tablet. The boot time was forever. Affinity Studio took 2 minutes. Word, longer than a minute. My PDF editor took over two minutes.Overall the sytem was very slow, even allthough I removed CoPilot and did a full reset. So I removed Windows 11

Surface Go 2 - tell me what to do?

Hi. I used an Asus Zenpad z300m for about 8 years before the battery literally split the case. I wanted something a bit more robust as a replacement. I recently bought into the Surface go 2, 8gb/M3/Win11pro. I had to return a few to get one that worked okay. My idea was that the Android's just didn'

Alpine linux as desktop os

It's pretty decent- using it with KDE Plasma on a Surface Go 3. It's by far the most responsive this mess of a tablet has been (way better than on the stock Windows 11) and most things I've needed have worked. Though, Eclipse was kinda messy to setup since the flatpak still tried to use my system's

Surface Go 3 in 2025

I support some people using Linux on a Surface Go 3, but I don't own one myself. The Go3 is well supported, even without a Surface Kernel, except the cameras. The attachable keyboard works well, if you use the original Microsoft keyboard, not a cheap bluetooth one. I am unsure though what to rec. as

Bring laptop or invest in mini tablet?

I got a Surface Go 3 - it's a bit weak but adequate if I'm not spending a lot of time on it. As a Windows tablet, it's the best (and worst) of both worlds.

Thinking about getting a surface go 3 off a buddy. Is it any good?

I have the surface go 3 tablet and love it. I bought a 3rd party keyboard that snaps on/off with magnets and a pen as I primarily use it for OneNote at work. However I do use it to stream videos etc at home. Very versatile, small but not too small, and quick to boot up. Would recommend and I think $

Is Linux viable for a Surface Pro 7 used primarily as a drawing tablet? Concerned about driver support for pen and touchscreen

It's always "well, it depends." Support differs by device. I'm running Linux on a Surface Go 3 and the pen is fully supported, even with tilt. Krita runs great! But keep in mind, I WAS running mainline 10, then got upgraded to 11 and basically didn't use the tablet for two years because it was so sl

Early Access to Tsuki Tea House: Idle Journey

I gave up playing games in my iOS. I now play them on my PC/laptop/tablet combo (SurfaceGo 3) via BlueStacks App (which is less than ideal, but works for access to most Android/Google games that I want). I made the switch when Tsuki was soooo tiny on my older iPhone.
