What do you use to listen to classical music, and why?
I usually use open-back headphones (Meze 105 AER) or nice floorstanding speakers with a good amp about 7 feet away. As you say, I think they have a better sense of space. Of course, open backs bleed a lot of sound and let a lot of sound in, so they're only suited for quiet environments. The same goe

What is something Xennials should be blamed for?
Hang out on r/headphones or r/BudgetAudiophile and you'll find lots of us. It's amazing how spoiled we are nowadays for good sound. A Qobuz subscription (hi-res streaming), modest headphone amp/dac (like from Fiio) and some mid-fi cans like Meze 105 AERs or Hifiman Sundaras and you're in the top 5%

AIRY SOUND, AERIER PRICE (25% OFF)
According to Google: The Meze 105 AER is an excellent, comfortable open-back headphone for immersive gaming, but only a good choice for competitive FPS (First-Person Shooters). They offer precise imaging and good spatial awareness, but their warm, bass-heavy signature might mask subtle footsteps dur

Gunnr Recs?
I have a pair of Meze Strada and 105 AERs that I use with my Gunnr. Yes, use the y cable, if you don’t it will short the audio out using just the TRRS. Now the AER are open back, but they sound awesome with the Gunnr. Not much different than my Stradas. I tend to use those on my Magni, Lokius, Mimir

Fiio FT1 or HD 600 for complementing my Arya Stealth?

starter in open headphones and need help
Don't spend half your budget on a DAC. Get a better headphone. You should be able to get an open-box Meze 105 AER for around 300 euros. For around $200 you can get the Fiio FT1 Pro or the Hifiman Edition XS, and for $160 or so the Hifiman Sundara. Personally I'd go for the FT1 Pro and a $9 JCALLY do

Deal on HD 490 pros fell through so I am considering buying the Arya Stealth. Thoughts?
Love my Arya Stealth and was a clear upgrade from HD 490 Pro. Actually at that time I went from HD 490 Pro to Meze 105 AER which was an upgrade to HD 490 Pro and then to Edition XV which was an upgrade to HD 490 Pro and Meze 105 AER. I finally settled for Arya Stealth (even tried HE1000 Stealth but

A Sets <> elyc6 Onset
Forgot to reply this, sorry! I’ve got the Meze 105 AER. I was eyeing up their bigger brother, the 109 Pros (and also fantasising about HD800S) but neither are quite within my budget haha In any case, these are still the most expensive cans I own, and they’re fantastic. It’s been really fun listening

Please help me pick my next gaming headset.
Absolutely. Bigger stage, better separation and layering, imaging would be comparable. Bass is also not hazy like the 490 Pro and actually you can add a bass shelf and enjoy a great impactful bass. Plus velour pads also improve bass response. For me personally, I would take a Meze 105 AER or Edition
