Sennheiser 490 Pro vs Meze 105 AER
The pad system of the 490 Pro is actually a strength, not a drawback! You basically get two tunings - one more linear/accurate one that’s better for mixing or gaming e.g. (fabric pads) and one more relaxed/musical and even bassy one with the velour pads. That actually makes the 490 Pro very versatil

Desperately need help
I’ve tried all you mentioned and even more (1990 pro mk2, 900 pro x, 990 pro x) - all of them have great big pads but clamp force is too strong, it wasn’t comfy, this is specific to Beyerdynamic. Hd 600 or 650 are good, but also have higher clamp force. In terms of comfort for casual listening for 1

Why do people give Sennheiser such good rep when - in my experience - their top headphones have build quality issues, specifically CREAKs. E.g. HD 490 pro
