You basically get two tunings - one more linear/accurate one that’s better for mixing or gaming e.g. (fabric pads) and one more relaxed/musical and even bassy one with the velour pads. Absolutely. Bigger stage, better separation and layering, imaging would be comparable. Bass is also not hazy like the 490 Pro and actually you can add a bass shelf and enjoy a great impactful bass. Plus velour pads also improve bass response. For me personally, I would take a Meze 105 AER or Edition

I just got the 105 AER,it's a pretty sweet headphone. I was always interested in Meze and them going down to $299 was worth taking a chance on. I'm really not interested in speakers.
