I've got the HDJ X5. Love them. I picked up some Mackie MR524 powered monitors and some basic stands on Amazon (to raise and tilt them) and they've been great.

Generally yes, though it's not like there's a huge difference between the two in terms of sound. Though I've learned that the JBL 305P MkII emit an audible hiss when they're running, so if you're sensitive to that then I would go with the Mackie MR524 instead as they don't have this issue.
