Yamahas are a bit harsh on the highs due to their tweeters Same budget you can try mackie mr524, higher up adam t5v

Generally yes, though it's not like there's a huge difference between the two in terms of sound. Though I've learned that the JBL 305P MkII emit an audible hiss when they're running, so if you're sensitive to that then I would go with the Mackie MR524 instead as they don't have this issue.
