I’ve swatched Alone Time several times over the last 12-18 months, and it’s just not a shade I’d be able to pull off. The only MAC shades I’ve looked at/used that work are Soar (lipstick), Fabby, and Girls Weekend.

It’s really going to depend on the undertone of your lips. I have really muted lips with a purple undertone. A true mauve lipstick with purple in it (as opposed to 90% of lipsticks that are trying to gaslight us into thinking they are mauve but have no actual purple in them and are dusky pink/rose)

I’m v similar colouring to you - I love Mac Soar & Go Retro. If you can get a refund on this, do so - don’t bend over backwards to make something work when there are so many shades that would look lovely on you :)

Try some muted true mauves from Lisa Eldridge (Romy, Medici) or Asian beauty. The saturation of your skin should match the saturation of the shade of lip product in order for the color to harmonize with your face. Looks like you lean warm, so mauves might not work for you.
