First time using linux, starting with Mint. Why does Linux feel slower than Windows?

My experience differs, mint feels fast and light compared to windows 11. LG Gram 17, decent specs. There has been a learning curve to be sure, but smarter people than I have been tackling the same issues so I know it will get sorted out.

Revised Poll: How wearable do you find EG straps/harness?

I put 3. I really adore Evergoods design language, and their bags work for my use case. But I'm not sure I'd buy another at this point, and am actively looking to replace a few. I had the CTB20 as my EDC/work bag and decided it was too bulky and big so I swapped it out for the CPL24. The CPL24 was f

Thinkpad pour creality Otter

I have an Otter. I use it with an LG Gram Pro. 32GB, 255H and no dgpu. Works great for small to medium models. Zero complaints. With large models I'll use my PC. 14900K, 64GB DDR4 and an RTX 5080.

Replace Copilot key function on new LG Gram Pro 17" with proper Right Ctrl effect?

Install Microsoft power Toys. This was easy. I have also replaced the FN +Space to launch the Perplexity app instead of the useless LG gram chat.

Ryzen 350 vs Intel 258V for sw development

I recently bought the lg gram, with the 258v. has great battery life. the ai pro or the npu don't really do anything except help copilot run recall. id probably do the x1 carbon if I didn't have the gram. with coding you need a great keyboard and a decent enough screen so your eyes don't get tired.

I'm stuck on what backpack to choose

I have the osprey proxima. It can fit my 17 inch LG Gram Laptop. If you don't want to look it up its basically a really lightweight and thin laptop. Anyways, it is indeed a tight fit in the laptop compartment. I think a smaller 15 inch laptop with average thickness can fit but don't expect much wigg

Tote / carryall for 17" notebook?

OK, I know this is old, but I utilize my White Elm convertible backpack that fits my LG Gram 17-inch laptop, but just not in the laptop compartment it provides, but it fits in the other main compartment of the bag and is designer-esque looking

Am I just out of touch?

Honestly its just not worth sticking with a brand of laptop anymore, dell had a good run but there are much better options on the market at the moment. I've had 2 Dells, 2 Alienwares, 2 LG Grams, 1 Sony, 1 HP, 1 Acer, 1 Lenovo, 2 MSI and 3 Mac Laptops... At the minute MSI and certain Acer models hav
