Here's explained why HDR might look "washed out" compared to SDR

The holy console magic sauce lol. we all have the same problems, PC gets away with it far far easier than any other platform because we have competent HDR fixes and modded implementations. consoles gets peanuts. Look at this shit in SDR on a G5 lol : https://www.reddit.com/r/LGOLED/comments/1n93i44/

Is anyone else disappointed in OLED after using miniLED or just me?

Yes. OLED monitors are .. really underwhelming, in my opinion. Especially with HDR, I don't know why but they struggle with maintaining sustaining brightness and they all have very aggressive ABL. If you enjoy serene daytime HDR, the sun peering through the clouds, brightly lit scenes, forget it --

Is it a mistake to keep game brightness hdr on 500 nits?

There's no wrong answer in this, just don't sit too close to peak brightness I use 400PW on my LG G5 (2500 peak) and it looks amazing, highlights have enough room to shine and the whole picture looks very real

2025 TCL QM8K Matched My $30K Monitor - Stop the FOMO

You came to argue about OLED's and all you're equipped with is what you saw on rtings? >_< The G5 and S95F can both hit 4K in 2% windows at their native whitepoint. Vincent Teoh was on camera doing it with the G5 months ago, and another reviewer got 4075 nits out of the S95F. Ok but if they aren't h

Living room TV recommendation: LG OLED G5 VS. SAMSUNG S95F

The 77” Samsung S95F has a QD-OLED panel—only the largest 83” size TV uses the LG WOLED panel. That being said, since this is a living room TV, QD-OLED will suffer from raised black levels since you’ll be watching it with ambient light. I don’t think you’d be disappointed with either TV, but I agree

Cyberpunk now looks a generation ahead on PS5 Pro compared to base consoles running at twice the framerate

There's pros and cons to every display tech. You're 100% right that OLED isn't default better. The minimum quality standard is just higher for OLED. The lowest end OLED panels these days are still excellent. The big advantage for premium miniLED TVs like the Bravia 9 or TCL QM8K is their sheer brigh

RenoDX Cyberpunk preferences

LG G5? 400 paperwhite probably looks washed out no? I find HDR to pop better below 300nits paperwhite.

LG G5 or S95F allround user?

I was also debating between these two and went with the S95F, for two reasons mainly. The G5 has issues with banding in HDR10 (important for PS5 gaming as HDR10 is what it uses) and all the previous LG OLEDs I've owned in the past have developed dead pixels all around the screen edges over time, som

Unlock comparison request for LG C5 OLED vs TCL QM7K (C7K)

I had the qm7k and the blacks are lifted on hdr content to achieve maximum brightness. On fullscreen it isn't much of a problem but beware black bars on movies... Sdr looks awesome and doesn't have this problem. If u watch very much sdr I can recommend it completely. If you are watching hdr and are

PC :(

Avoid the 48” model. It doesn’t use the same 4 stack panel tech. That particular size G5 does not represent the glory of the 55” 65” 77” or 83” versions. Funny enough they offer a 97” size as well (for the low low price of $25,000 lmao!) that uses the same lesser panel tech as the 48” so while impre
