Ya but there is plenty of sources for it. Also I bought lg 40u990a-w for work which I consider a mid tier model which was maligned because of fan noise. I had to try it for myself. Not a sound! Shrug. Sometimes it's best to try things out yourself!

I like the 5k2k 40” monitors. I have both the lg 40u990a that does 120hz and an older hp z40c g3 that are sometimes available as cheap refurbs on eBay. One for work, one for home. I prefer one large screen over multi screen setups and must have usb hub built in so I can have a single thunderbolt cab

Here are a few but there are more. The point though is that so little content is compatible with 5k that most people are far better off with the limitless options at 4k, any hz you want, HDR, so many advantages. https://www.walmart.com/ip/5539460685?sid=8dd55d6b-af36-4fcf-b75e-753418105280 https://w

I have seen no official confirmation, some news aggregator websites like that one mention it as a given with no source. Others mention DP2.1 DSC (like displayspecifications.com) which is meaningless - of course it supports DSC, it's part of the standard - and points towards not enough bandwith to dr

I have a 40" 5K2K IPS (LG 40U990A-W) for work and a 45" 5K2K OLED (LG 45GX950A-B) for casual gaming and media and I honestly can't go back to anything else. GOATed resolution in my opinion. With these two monitors specifically they are big enough and have high enough resolution that they can do it a

Oh this would be so cool to try! Some background. I’m an iOS engineer with a photography hobby. My primary setup for years was a 32” 4K monitor with a MacBook display below it and an iPad to the right of the 4k monitor via sidecar. My desk is nearly 100% productivity, but someday soon I’ll finish Ba

Just do what I said: connect all your peripherals, mouse and keyboard to 40u990a. Then for your first computer that using hdmi, you connect both hdmi AND usb-c(the one at the lower -right side in the back, with a “out” label) to it; the second computer should just connect byThunderbolt(not the daisy

u/LG_UserHub Is the personalized picture wizard available for 40U990A-W ? I don't see the option in the LG Switch app and I'm struggling with insufficient brightness which so far seems to be only partially resolved by using the vivid mode which I don't like because it distorts the colors. Thanks

I've had the 40U990A-W for two weeks now and have also compared it with the Dell: The fan was extremely loud when it was delivered, which was very annoying. After the firmware update, everything was suddenly within a very acceptable range. Sure, you can hear it in a very quiet environment, but the b
